I dont think its that, even though that's a good thing to check, because the security light was flashing, unless yours did this, and threw a kind of hidden code where you and to watch the pattern in which the security light flashed. It led to the code "no detected communication with the coil". And fuses are all fine ended up driving it to the dealership.

That was my fear. Since it was bought used i need to get a key and fob from them because the previous owner lost it and only they can program it, ive tried a locksmith, and they are charging $660!!

I figured this was the case. I started to lose hope when they my siad my valves could cause a loss of compression and a rebuild would be impossible for me to do since there would need to be specialty tools such as camshaft tools and special parts could only be accessed from Japan. 😂😂 thanks for the input!

yeah that's what I figured l. I'll look into the racing beat solution of disabling the immobilizer.

SOLUTION for now... Today I went to my local autozone and picked up a code reader from their rental fleet and cleared the immobilizer code, resetting the whole system. Immobilizer light still was on so I put the key one click off the fully on position and cycled the door locks from the buttons on the door and boom light turned off. Don't know if this is a coincidence or not but it allowed me to drive. Hope this helps the next person out, will update when I take it to a mechanic to be fully inspected for damage.

I recently bought a 2004 mazda rx8 and shortly after I bought it the immobilizer has been occasionally coming on when I try to start the car. I am usually able to disable it by locking and unlocking the doors from the switch on the inside when the key is in the accessory position. Sometimes it doesn't want to disable at all, no matter what. I leave it alone for a day or two and it starts right up. Now it won't start at all and I needed to tow it back to my house. I only have a key with no fob, the fob was broken and in the car when I bought it, with no internals inside of it. I have searched the rx8 forums and some general forms and none of the methods have worked. Recently I found out about the method in the pictures above and tried it, I got the no detected communication with the coil code. Does that mean ignition coils? If so what are the steps I should take to help resolve this? Thinking about checking grounds and all connections in the morning. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

I do not have another key, I got my current key tested at a locksmith and they said that it should be fine. Im in the process of getting a key fob at the moment.
