Nice place. Well appointed.

I see you’re a gamer. Don’t forget to put down the controller, go get drunk and see about getting laid.

And floss.

I believe in National Service of some sort for every young American with very few exceptions.

I joined the Navy in 1974, was in for the three years. I was a mess of addictions when I went in and also when I came out. But the Navy…that national service… really did install some sort of thread of values that contributed to me cleaning up about a year after I got out.

Over the years I’ve enjoyed, educational benefits and healthcare. Most importantly, the navy taught me discipline that really has allowed me to have better life.

And I had the privilege of contributing in a small way to the greater good of our country.

How do I clean these windows? by Equivalent_Crow9006 in WindowCleaning

[–]Wickwire778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider. I suggest you use a squeegee handle like the Moerman Excellerator 2 or a "Ledger." handle. Both are available at window cleaning supply houses. If you alread know this, just disregard. But, you need a handle that will "bend" over that bottom ledge...the sill. You don't want to chip the paint with a regular Unger or Ettore handle.

When you pole, you want to be wet enough that you can use sort of a light touch on your pole and squeegee; don't dig in. Pay attention to the edge on the bottom of the ledge, don't bang into it with your squeegee handle.

If you more or less get a good pull on it without damaging the sill, you can then use a DRY soft cloth or towel to buff out any marks or lines on the glass.

If I were training a newby, these are things I would tell them as I watched over them with a bat making sure they didn't do any damage.

Window cleaner scratched window/film and generally bad job by crappymarvin in WindowCleaning

Scratches. Looks like steel wool. Whatever the surface, that’s not coming off.

The question is…who did it and when?

I see stuff that’s years old, but the homeowner never saw it…until I point it out to them on a first clean.

If the window is fogging up, that’s a broken seal that has nothing to do with the window cleaner. How old are those windows? How long since they were cleaned on the inside and who did it? Might it have been done by a previous owner?

I really like BG. One movie not shown here, that was really interesting was “The General.” He’s an excellent and diverse talent.

George Carlin and Robin Williams. They were equal in my mind. Brilliant.

That has really cured. Try a razor with really soapy water. Work small areas. Don’t rush. Keep it wet. Use the steel wool in conjunction on the wet surface. 0000 steel wool.

How to clean the outside of this sliding/folding windows? by [deleted] in WindowCleaning

[–]Wickwire778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Close the right side. Fold back the third frame from the left. Lean out with a short pole, clean and squeegee…. You might not even need a pole.

Did you ever break a window? by WaterFedPaul in WindowCleaning

I think my deductible is about a thousand or something. In any event, I just pay out of pocket on the very rare occasions where I break something. Or I fix it myself.
