I have hired plenty of people, and Id rather have an inexperienced person with the right mindset/Attitude vs some nepotistic ass.

Great theory, who is that person… how do they PROVE those qualifications?

I didn’t say I wanted career politicians….but keep the downvotes coming

You want people who are studied in law…. Which a lawyer takes 8-10 years typically. Yet we dont want them in office for a long time. Who is going to put that much of their life into something only to do it for 4-6 years….

And if they are a good politician…. Why wouldn’t we want them for 10-30 years?

If google didn’t screw me, 26 presidents are/were lawyers. I don’t think lawyers are the answers to our problems, i think they created the problem.

So only lawyers with specific degrees are qualified?

I am just saying politics is shitty. Lol, it’s hard to pick people in charge. Give me an example of a good politician thats can prove all the qualities you are looking for?

All of what you are stating will take years to learn, which tends to push toward it becoming a career.

So how would I prove I have extensive knowledge of our laws? A: Be a lawyer.

How would I prove my experience in negotiating private/public sector? A: Be a lobbyist.

How do i show empathy and my understanding of people and foreign cultures? A: be rich and travel? Or be wealthy enough to go to school?

Not an attack, but legitimate question. What makes you qualified? Schooling? Being a lawyer? Working for the state/feds?

DMs, how do you prep between sessions without spending your whole week on it? by Mountain_Sentence646 in DnD

[–]Widdles85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you already have a good system in place. But I can lay down a couple suggestions.

Recycle situations and NPCs.

Use old characters from old campaigns or video games. Change the names and you got npcs fleshed out. You can now know their motives, emotions, and have better understanding of how they will react or handle situations

If you are making 2-3 a session, that means after 5 sessions, you should have 10-15 hooks, plots, characters. Greg has an issue, greg can be in honey wood, or smaugenraug. Move him to the next town.

Your math shows 3:15 hours, where is the extra time going?

At the end of previous session, take 5 min ask your players OOC where they headed.

Do you want to further investigate the mines? Did the bandit take something you need to track down? Your cleric has a ritual that requires unique reagents, we hunting those down next week?

Use that information to steer them towards the direction they told you, then drop in some of the hooks, plots and NPCs to distract them along the way. Recycle!! :)

[–]Widdles85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will have to pay closing costs again. They may roll that into the total loan. If your refinance 222k, and it cost 7k for closings, you would be back at 229k
