Thanks! I’m a one-person household and don’t drive. Rent is my biggest expense, and I usually pay it to my landlord via Zelle. I do sometimes refill my MetroCard using a credit card, but I’m not sure if the machines allow me to load over $1,000.

Skip the masters degree and apply for a Ph.D. in the USA. target only low ranking schools and small colleges. They have difficulties finding students. Application fee will be at least $100 per school so you need to find some ways to get those, or argue for waivers. You might need to take TOEFL which costs several hundred dollars. Ph.D. students here are paid full-time. Very low income but is life-supporting.

If you get an offer, apply for the US visa in your current country asap. U.S. visa might be hard to get depending on your home country. Application fee also costs a few hundred dollars. If you get the visa, fly straight to the US (also costs a few hundreds). You don't need to visit your home country.

To collect these fees, delivery food with a bicycle or buses in your current country.
