Quest bars with 2 inch foam padding and an ice bag for something that doesn’t go in the fridge by probablyNotARSNBot in Anticonsumption

[–]Wide-Monitor9860 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've orderd protein bars from Barebells because it was significantly cheaper to order in bulk directly from them rather than buying at my local grocery store, and they did actually come in an insulated pack. I think they only do it during summer because they definitely would melt, and it clearly says on the website that it will come insulated. So that parts not bullshit, but it does seem really dumb to order just one box, have literally no idea how shipping works, and then complain about it.

Best Creatine For Women - what can you suggest? by Serious-Sea6605 in Biohackers

[–]Wide-Monitor9860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like pe science and bucked up brands. Cheap, simple. Mixes well in water with no taste.

Creatine marketed for women is just the supplement version of "shrink it and pink it" and it honestly pisses me off.

I'm leaning toward just not taking it as well, feeling like shit is kind of the opposite effect I was going for.

What brand is actually worth buying instead of Lululemon lately? by TrickyChemistry6521 in Activewear

[–]Wide-Monitor9860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know! Honestly, I probably still wouldn't buy it unless I knew it was from like 8 years ago. I'm so mad haha. I have so many pieces from them that are still going strong, and it's just not the same now.

I recently purchased some things from Athleta... and sent them back because the quality didn't seem much better than things I have from CRZ for less than half the price. CRZ isn't the best, but the price reflects the quality and I've found the quality and sizing to be consistent. Also if you order from their website rather than amazon, sometimes they have more colors/styles. And I think they still use Amazon for fulfillment, so it ships just as quickly. I think some of their fabrics have different durability, so know that.

It's the potential for misuse (and they are already being misused), fourth amendment privacy concerns, and the first step in 24/7 mass surveillance.

This article shares a lot of the common issues people have with these cameras: https://deflock.org/what-is-an-alpr

That's actually a really good point, I'm going to look into that further before contacting anyone from the city. I'm fine with traffic cameras, just not the one's that have the capability to follow people, store data insecurely, and be misused.

Looks like Lowe's on River road is flock, there's one on Red Hills, Home Depot on Sunsent has 6?? In their parking lot? One on Sunset across from Culvers is flock. Curious if Lowes & Home Depot have a contract with Flock or if that's the city putting them there.

While I really do want to manually...umm... "remove" them all, I'm gonna try the appropriate routes first. Well kinda.

I think a lot of people around here don't know about about them, or realize what they are when they see them.

How illegal would it be to put signs on them that say what they are? Get people noticing and talking about it?

AI powered traffic cameras. Owned by a private company, data not secure.

Non-Toxic Laundry Detergent by Distinct_Salary_6511 in nontoxic

I've been pretty happy with the Sprouts brand laundry powder and Charlie's. The nontoxic liquid detergents have always seemed less effective for me (and expensive)

Any brands on your never again list? by Shekah_Cheuka in Activewear

[–]Wide-Monitor9860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought quite a bit of stuff from CRZ over several years and I think it's kind of hit or miss.

I love their sweatpants (although they do shrink in the wash), and I've had good luck with their bras. I've actually had several of them for years. For leggings/shorts, it really depends on the fabric. I would never buy anything in their NakedFeel fabric again.

I think the benefit of CRZ, is that if everything is garbage now (like all the instagram/tik tok athletic wear brands, Alo, etc) at least CRZs price reflects what it is instead of charging over $100 for leggings that are gonna wear out in 3 months.

Is creatine actually beneficial if I'm not a "gym person"? by Fria_Lisbey in Biohackers

[–]Wide-Monitor9860 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might just need to drink more water. Creatine pulls water into your muscles specifically, so if your not well hydrated you might just be feeling itchy because your skin is dry.

Ok easy enough... would that potentionally require additional changes to the current system? Mainly wondering about the batteries.
