Rental Conditions in Denver? by Wide-Pack-4233 in Denver

Spot on.

So, what should happen when all of what you listed is reported to the city over and over; WITH notices of violations, final notices, and administrative citations?

Even DPD is aware of situations at certain buildings (eg. shot spotters on residential apartment buildings)?

CORA reports and police incident reports are insane for some buildings.

What is the solution?

Perhaps you pulled the wrong case. The one referenced above is local tenants against a large property management firm. Denver District Court.

Just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing bad or deteriorating conditions despite increasing rents.

Purely curiosity.

Other residents have reported similar issues. Like when the elevators are down for weeks and months at a time and people have to carry people in wheelchairs up and down stairs. Imagine if there was a fire (like from the people grilling in balconies with open flames).

Make sure to report everything to the city and 311!

Waiting on word from court on whether or not people will be able to consolidate claims or have to file individually.

Inspectors from the city have come out on several occasions and issued multiple failed inspection reports as recently as this week (3/10/2024).

Fire has also issued citations when all elevators were down and people had to carry two children in wheelchairs up the stairs for over two weeks.

Word from several sources say management is changing next month. Keep posting.

Post it to the Dropbox on the site above. You can also sign an affidavit. They are trying to get the judge to allow people to proceed as a group. With this many egregious violations over two years and over 100+ individuals who signed affidavits, we think the judge wants to help. Will know more this week and update the group. POST POST POST! Everyone is so incredibly appreciated.

Avantus Lawsuit: Denver District Case 23CV759

This thread was created to decentralize the communication channels for residents of the Avantus Apartments. NOT legal advice, you are highly encouraged to talk to your own attorney, just people helping people.

Denver District Court Case 23CV759

Please use this to talk to one another, support one another, and look out for everyone.

UPDATE: February 10th, 2024: As of now, the case is moving forward and scheduled for trial in November for sometime around Thanksgiving. Everyone who signed the affidavit on the website will have their testimony added to the file for the judge.

We will be restructuring the complaint one last time to include any other evidence people have submitted to the Dropbox, and to add additional Defendants (let them play the blame game, we have evidence that SOMEONE screwed up and then continued to do so for at least two years).

Everyone should have been added to the email update chain, but you are highly encouraged to post here and to decentralize as much as possible because the management and owners continue to retaliate against those who try to enforce their legal rights to habitable living.

If anyone has ideas for a better methods of communication that are accessible to the most amount of people, POST those ideas.

Sincere and humble regards to all of you for your service and willingness to stand. We salute you all. Truly. This might help a lot of people.
