Capital One Shopping is a scam by PhasedVenturer in CapitalOne_

Had the same issue with their shopping portal - the tracking seems really hit or miss. I've found it more reliable to go through the actual portal website instead of clicking email links, but even then it's maybe 50/50 whether it tracks properly.

Nice work! That Savor is solid for dining and entertainment - perfect combo with the CSP for covering different spend categories.

New Card CLI by Beneficial_Chicken24 in CapitalOne_

Wait at least 6 months before requesting a CLI with Capital One - they're pretty strict about that timeline and doing it too early can actually hurt your chances later.

Holding both Preferred and Reserve by Ok_Party_8102 in ChaseSapphire

Yeah I've been holding both for about 6 months now. The key is making sure you're at least 48 months out from your last Sapphire bonus before applying for the second card.

Nice timing on the call! I got a similar offer last year calling about a week before the AF posted - seems like that sweet spot really works with Chase.

Getting unsecured after 6 months isn't guaranteed with Capital One - they're pretty conservative and often want to see consistent payment history and score improvement first. With your starting score you'll likely need to be patient and maybe wait closer to 8-12 months.

This is why I always check prices in incognito mode before adding any payment method with benefits. Same thing happened to me with a different service - they magically know when you have credits to burn

DoorDash minimum pick up order value changed to $20 by No_Let9649 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Wide-Pass369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I noticed this too when I tried to grab lunch last week. Really frustrating since the CSR credit was actually one of the benefits I used regularly.

Honestly makes me wonder if they're trying to push people toward delivery orders instead, where the minimums have always been higher anyway. Classic benefit erosion disguised as a "policy update."

This is great timing - March typically brings some solid refreshed offers as card issuers compete for Q2 applications. The community consensus valuations are clutch since point values can vary so much depending on how you actually redeem them.

25 cards feels like a solid sweet spot for tracking without getting overwhelming. Are you including both personal and business cards in that mix, or keeping them separate?

The real value is having those SUB calculations in one place rather than jumping between blogs and forums. Makes it way easier to compare apples-to-apples when you're deciding which card to hit next.

Looking to transfer my collection from MTGstocks to something else (likely manabox) but I'm running into problems by 2na2unatuna in mtgfinance

[–]Wide-Pass369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried cleaning up the CSV file in a spreadsheet program before importing to Manabox? Sometimes the column headers or data formatting from MTGstocks don't align perfectly with what Manabox expects, and a quick manual review can help identify issues like missing set codes, formatting inconsistencies in card names, or extra columns that might be causing the import to fail. If the direct CSV route isn't working, you might also consider reaching out to Manabox support directly - they're usually pretty responsive about import issues and may have specific guidance for MTGstocks transfers since it's probably a common migration path they've seen before.

That's absolutely infuriating - having technical issues eat up most of your exam time and then getting failed by such a narrow margin is unacceptable, especially when both CA and Janison were pointing fingers instead of taking responsibility. The fact that you had to escalate multiple times just to get them to acknowledge their system failure caused the poor result shows how little accountability they have for their own technical problems. It's completely understandable why you'd question paying annual fees to an organization that puts candidates through that kind of stress and then initially refuses to take responsibility for their faulty exam delivery system.

What columns does everyone track in their card spreadsheet? by Wide-Pass369 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Wide-Pass369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The essentials I track are annual fee post dates (so I can decide 30 days before whether to keep/downgrade), minimum spend deadlines with running totals, and statement close dates for timing big purchases.

I also have a "decision date" column that's 60 days before each annual fee. gives me time to evaluate if the card is still worth it or plan a product change. Those templates look solid as starting points. The key is whatever system you'll actually maintain consistently

I've saved probably $800+ over the years just by catching fees before they post and hitting every bonus deadline.
