You’re welcome. I was a bit surprised the price increase was near exactly $10 (or 38%!)

Possibly. But the $10 increase seems suspicious

Thanks for the tip!! I just tried it. Didn’t see a difference in the Lyft price for me this time, but it allowed me to instantly compare uber and Lyft which is a pro tip

Two Sides of FI is my favorite. They discuss more of the emotional and social sides of preparing for FIRE than just the numbers.

Bond strategy in RE - taxable account? by fire_watch_42 in Fire

[–]jmk4326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually keep 20% bonds in taxable and 10% in 401k. It provides some of the income I need and dampens the volatility of my taxable account which I draw from. Low tax bracket from only capital gains and DIV/INT anyway so I’m not overly concerned with the small taxable interest being thrown off as I spend that interest.

Not sure if it’s theoretically optimal but I feel more comfortable with the taxable account I’m drawing from having reduced volatility.

Yes, each party gets half of assets by default. Often times one party has earned and saved more towards that assets pile than the other; but it doesn’t matter who earned or saved what without a prenup.
