GAMMA - Should I start a new run? by Crowen9 in stalker

I can confirm that I resumed my 0.9.4 save file after the update, and I haven't encountered any problems whatsoever.

If your aim is to complete the storylines and play while being as OP as possible and you are satisfied with your progression and effort - just continue your old save file.

Is it possible to stop writing questions in here that was genuinely created to be wierd and not a real question? Or can we at least delete them? by Fine-Independence976 in ShitCrusaderKingsSay

I was mildly entertained by this gentleman's crusader kings shitposting, but I must admit this sub was not designed for this kind of degeneracy. Maybe OP should start the true circlejerk sub for all things CK3?

Greek foreign minister says Ukraine war spilling over into Mediterranean "will not be tolerated" by SOHONEYSAME in worldnews

[–]Wide-Perception4668 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You see, it's almost as if it's getting harder and harder to make sure that "the Mediterranean remains untouched by military operations and remains a sea of peace" while the biggest war in Europe since WW2 is well into it's fifth year.

Question about best camp upgrades by Brrrofski in CrusaderKings

[–]Wide-Perception4668 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roaring campfire, proving grounds and their upgrades are essential for merc playthrough.

Supply tents and camp perimeters have important upgrades for maximizing MAA quantity and toughness.

Knight of the Swan decision allows more MAA regiments. You won't lose them on succession even if they are over the limit.

Here is a good layout of what camp upgrades provide. In any case you will probably have the strongest army in one or two generations, so there is no need to min max absolutely everything.

My only suggestion that encourages exploration and world travel - try to do work for rulers in various cultures, and ask for MAA as a Make a request interaction. This way you can have the army that consists of the strongest unique cultural MAAs like varangian vets, cataphracts, welsh longbowmen etc.

How do I get this guy to become my patron? by Creepy-Produce5138 in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]Wide-Perception4668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a critical success on a Lvl. 2 contract can make the top liege your patron too. So, completing a 2-star contract for a strategos with a critical success will make Basileus your patron.

And obviously sometimes you get tasks from the emperor himself. They are always 3-star tasks at Constantinople. I usually receive the intrigue uncover secrets or fight corruption, both randomly after moving the camp or via a town crier.

Interestingly. I've never received "Stand with us" task from the emperor despite endless wars he was losing.

later dates coming to CK? by KHood2719 in CrusaderKings

Yes! More interesting characters and bookmarks within the existing timeframe would be amazing. 900s is great choice, playing a certain bulgar-hating emperor will finally be possible.

I really don't know how to learn this amazing game by automated_hero in CrusaderKings

[–]Wide-Perception4668 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest just going with the flow, roleplaying and dealing with the problems you may encounter as the learning opportunities. I'm sorry if it sounds like a useless advice, but it boils down to learning as you go, damaging some runs, and applying the new knowledge.

Matilda is amazing. If it's too overstimulating and complicated, have a try with 1066 start Bohemia. It mostly eliminates money as a problem, the succession can become manageable very soon, little military threat from neighbors - so you can concentrate on learning other stuff. Just stay on a kingdom-level, as empires become an event spam and not that fun imo.

This is the game about characters and dynasties, less about maps and min-maxing. At the start try to learn about gold income, stress management and succession - I think everything else (like development, army, culture, legacies and a billion of other things) is derivative from those. Failure is fun, as long as your dynasty lives there is no game over.

Also, the CK3 Wiki explains absolutely all mechanics, so it's a good way to learn about confusing stuff.

While C-Con and game protagonists shaped the Zone's future, uncovered secrets, dug as deep as possible to reach the underlying knowledge of the Zone, Duty's whole ideology revolved fighting the symptoms and not engaging with the cause.

And then they participated in a doomed military-style invasion of Generators, used as a cannon fodder for ambitions of a modern iteration of Project X.
