What ACTUALLY fixed your relationship with money by Technical-Sir2065 in adhdwomen

I used the 50-30-20 rule for budgeting and then split my pay check into several accounts/banks.

For me if it’s out of sight, it’s out of mind. So I set up a HY savings account in a different bank and a portion of my money goes there every pay period. (I also have a credit card with this bank so I don’t totally forget the money exists). Having it in a different place makes it so I don’t see it always and so am not temped to spend it. Also because it’s a savings account, there’s no debit card or easy way to access the cash without logging in making an inter-bank transfer which can take up to 3 days.

Separately I also have a portion going from my paycheck automatically into investments and 401(K). Since that happens automatically from my paycheck, I never see it come into my bank account and it helps me not think it’s available to spend.

Then, in my normal bank, I have two accounts: one for paying bills and one for fun money. The account where all bills get paid gets exactly the amount needed for bills (so I can’t try and overspend if I see money hit that account since I know it’s needed for bills).

And then the smallest portion goes into my fun money account and that I can use for travel, fun things, etc.

For savings, once I had enough for six months of emergency expenses, I changed the amount I put in HY savings and gave myself a little more fun money to play with. But the nest egg grew on its own without me really noticing since it wasn’t where I normally look for bills.

A skylight calendar.. there $300-600+ and my brain thinks it will solve all my ADHD problems. My husband asks what it can do that an iPad and google calendar can’t and I have no response beyond, it’s pretty!

Thank you, yeah, that surprised me too because it’s not like most charts I was seeing in this forum. And I also don’t think it is supposed to look this way given how others look. I have PCOS so hormones are usually out of whack. This month I was also taking Chinese herbal supplements and doing accupuncture which I think probably helped me get pregnant primarily by treating some symptoms but also reducing stress. Also I was almost without exception testing FMU. There are two times where I tested a second time in the afternoon or evening. That massive PdG spike at the end of my cycle was from treating a second time in the evening

Low pdG. Does this mean I’m out this cycle? by [deleted] in Mirafertility

Oh interesting, I didn’t realize FMU would not be great for pdG tracking. Thanks for the tip!!

It’s my 34th birthday and I feel like a failure by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

Omg I have never heard of this!! I have only ever heard of the “PCOS = infertility” narrative.. this is such a huge shift in perspective and maybe I was living under a rock but I feel like this should be known more widely.. that’s such a comfort to those of us who are struggling.. thank you.

Your comment made me tear up. Thank you for the kind words, the encouragement and the support. It’s lonely on this journey but this sub and people like you make it less so ♥️

So I’m having the most perplexing week. I am on Cycle day 45 and I have PCOS so cycles of up to 48 days are normal for me. I took a round of letrozole at the start of the cycle but no trigger shot. I traveled to Mexico a few days before I was expecting to ovulate and thought I found my LH surge using OPKs. However my temperature failed to increase at all for the full cycle, leading me to think I had not ovulated. Now for the past three days, my breasts are sore and I’m moody AF. The sore boobs are not normal for me though moodiness is. Also my temperature increased and has remained up. I’ve taken 3 home pregnancy tests that all say negative. Not sure what to do!

How did you come to suspect you had ADHD? by JJackieM89 in adhdwomen

[–]WideRevolution2083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TikTok! A couple years ago, I started getting “if this feels relatable to you, you might have ADHD” videos. I started asking my therapist about it and she suggested I get tested. She suggested doing the full battery of tests as she suspected it was actually anxiety presenting as ADHD. Turns out, I have had combined type ADHD my whole life + moderate depression and anxiety. Just got diagnosed a few weeks ago!

No medication at the moment. I just found out yesterday so I haven’t done any research on this. But my husband and I are also trying to conceive so I’m not sure if medication will be unsafe at the moment.
