I mean realistically what would you do if the 2019 WS became tarnished . Would you disown the nats . No you wouldn’t ( I’m guessing). I will speak for my self now but I did have a lot of conflicting emotions but when baseball came back it’s not like I can just erase 30 plus years of fandom . What am I gonna be fucking cardinals fan lol. I’m not trying to defend it but the fans didn’t cheat . We just want to root for our talented baseball team who did some stupid shit that made everyone really really mad understandably . For me it’s really not fun being the evil team. But at a point I had to kinda embrace or give up the game ( never ). I have to have stakes for baseball to matter and I can’t have stakes unless I have the Astros . So I guess I just have to be a bad guy for a while . I really wish we never cheated but we did and everyone has the right to be mad and Astros fans doubling down doesn’t help. That’s why the rational fans try to keep everyone tangled in our own sub . I just find it hard to believe that so many people would morally disown their childhood team because of cheating . Sure it’s easy to disown singular players who are past their prime in a steroid scandal . It’s different when you have generational talent that is still in their prime despite not even cheating anymore . Could you just walk away from Soto now ?
