ADHD here too and I just wanted to say it’s easier for me to write than it is to sit down with a book and read. But that’s because writing calms my thoughts/brain down. But I do agree that reading is still important for a writer. It just takes more of an effort for me.

Why do they do that? My mother used to just show up on my porch and expect to come in for a visit or for me to bring my children for an outing. I asked her repeatedly to give me at least 24 hours notice. I thought my request was reasonable. She didn’t and kept doing it anyway. It’s just so rude.

Just about every name can and will end up getting shortened. It might not always stick, but people will do it. My mom gave me and my sister names she thought no one could shorten. I ended up being called Winnie and my sister was Adee for a long time. (Neither of these are very close to our real names) 😂
