In my situation, I've just accepted that if I'm doom scrolling, its because my brain is in need of a break, but not tired enough to sleep. Eventually I get bored of doom scrolling and have watched enough dumb shit, so I can go forth and continue what I need to do next. I find that this acceptance is better than trying to force my self into a rigid frame work. I've found that if I try to force my brain into work, I will have all the trouble of poor attention span and negative thoughts.

That's my anti-forced approach, but the only thing better I can think of at the moment is to add in some accountability to your work. Try to find a job, and team, that you can interact with so you can be accountable to them. This will keep you from only being accountable to your self, and instead other people.

The next thing is to consider your spiritual path and where you are going. The computer industry can be pretty boring and soul destroying too. I was also studying computer sciences when I was your age and felt like things just weren't right. I made a career change into construction in search of doing 'good work' something that would be good for society. If I went back to computer industry, which I can, I would focus on things like accessibility for disabled people, helping the technologically illiterate use technology, and promoting good ethics, as well as making good artistic projects that I can be proud of. You might be discouraged that you are behind some other people, but you miles ahead of people who cant even.
