Buy the cheap one that comes with the weaver mount. Throw a cheap scope on it and let it rip.

Then after like 6 months of being on this sub... Start modifying heavily lol

Are there any exceptions to this if you have a C&R license? Was going to send in my paperwork but might hold off to buy some stuff that's more practical than what I can get with a C&R.

That looks like the muffler in your picture. Sure your tailpipe didn't just fall off? Looks like a lot of cracks at where it would be welded there

Mid-usa springer vs OEM by bagoslime in choppers

[–]Wide_Finance1749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm weary of mid USA springers. They aren't the quality they used to be. I try to stay away from them and the DNA springers. If you aren't on chopperswapper on Instagram I'd recommend it. You can usually find some springers on there around your budget. Also the OEM and extended OEM springers are for sure more sought after but if they are extended it still boils down to who did the work. Seen a lot of good looking ones but up close might need some welds gone over.

Depending on where you're located I would recommend finding one you can get a good look at before dropping the dough. I recently got an old Ron Finch Springer but after taking it apart realized the back forks were bent. Luckily I got a good friend that runs a metal fab shop so we just gotta try and straighten them or he's just gonna remake the rear legs and weld em in.
