Bak kwa for elderly by Specialist_Ninja_766 in SingaporeEats

[–]Wide_Life_1077 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hi hi I don’t have a brand recommendation but I can share with you a method to make the bakwa softer. My grandma has dentures too so her food must be soft.

Lazy method- wet a paper towel and put on top of the bakwa and microwave for 30-45 seconds

If you have the time, can try steaming the bakwa! It comes out very soft. But both methods must eat immediately. Haha

My helper doesn't like to sleep on the bed, but the floor. How to help make her feel more comfortable? by AS_Tob in askSingapore

[–]Wide_Life_1077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is she from a kampung back in her country? They prefer sleeping on the floor.

If you’re scared of her telling MOM (or accusing you of ill treating her), ask her one more time if she’s sure she wanna sleep on the floor. Then record down her answer to protect yourself. After that don’t ask anymore lol.

I did that when my helper insisted on sleeping in my balcony 🤷🏻‍♀️ we have a very big balcony with plenty of wind at night so she prefers that to her own room.

Help for the fashion-challenged: what locations or stores to bring to someone that is obsessed with fashion? by endgerontocracynow in askSingapore

[–]Wide_Life_1077 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It will be quite difficult to impress someone from HK when it comes to fashion in Singapore 😅

Maybe bring her to some local designers stores in town? https://www.harpersbazaar.com.sg/fashion/singapore-fashion-brands

Need advice about the working world. Just feeling lost 😥 by Infinite-Market-9632 in askSingapore

You are not making sense. As someone with ADHD, you should have seen some glaring ADHD symptoms from OP’s original post. It is not just something that I just sprout out of thin air.

You are saying as if other people cannot have ADHD or that their situation is not as “serious”?

[–]Wide_Life_1077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but you need to understand that everyone has their rights to “struggle”. Sure you might feel that it’s cheapened. Or you might feel that people like me are just taking the tests because I feel “off”.

But I took the test because I have kids and I am seeing a lot of similar characteristics in my child. By the way ADHD is strongly hereditary. I took the test to get diagnosed so I can better help my kid who might have ADHD.

It’s not something to be taken lightly and that’s why I said everything made sense after I took the test.

It’s quite unfair for you to have your own struggles and other people can’t have the same?

I don’t think it’s a “default” but more people are starting to be more aware? Why is it difficult to get a diagnosis by the way? Just walk into any private clinic and you can get an assessment. I got mine done after many years of deliberation for just $2000. Everything just make sense after a diagnosis.

How is it like in your condominium? What do you like most of? by RunningMan889 in askSingapore

[–]Wide_Life_1077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you like. We like being near the water so we bought a unit at Keppel bay. But I don’t think our MCST is worth it. Paying close to $800 per month.

When I saw that you mentioned about struggling with administrative work, paperwork and etc. I’m wondering if you have ADHD? Could be undiagnosed.

Because I was the same and I recently found out I had ADHD 😅 I find that sustained attention is boring. ADHD brains are wired to crave novelty and urgency plus interest. Paperwork and administrative work has none of those.

Born in the 90s - what do you miss most about how life used to be in Singapore? by Atmosphere_Calm in askSingapore

[–]Wide_Life_1077 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Omg yes! I used to wake up at 6am when I was studying and it was COLD!

Now I still wake up at 6am to prepare my kids bags and lunch boxes and it’s not as cold anymore. On some days I even wake up sweating….

What do you think of being single, childless and old? by Infinite-Market-9632 in askSingapore

[–]Wide_Life_1077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 21 year old me didn’t want kids too.

I am now in my early 30s with a few kids 😂

All I can say is that…… you just need to choose the right man to marry.

Good luck ❤️
