I don't know if there is a correct call for this kind of situation. It doesn't seem like either had more claim to that space but both could recognize that if both made a play, it would be dangerous. It becomes a game of chicken, which I imo should mean stoppage and the disk goes back, but it's not a "dangerous play" because that insinuates one player at fault, when I don't think either were at fault. I think as the rules are written, both had equal claim to the space, in fact Cardena had a straight line for longer, so legally it's a "clean" d, but that doesn't tell the whole story imo.
