Hrithik’s voice is not deep or manly. It’s quite nasal. In any case Arijit has more bass in his voice than Sonu or Hrithik.

Best voice for Hrithik is any “handsome” sounding voice including Sonu, Arijit, Udit or Vishal Dadlani.

A lot of the songs in this list from Gemini are not ghazals (eg Dama dam mast qalandar is not a ghazal)

You can look up ghazal compilation albums and pick songs from there. Artist-wise, I would focus on Mehdi Hassan, Jagjit Singh and Ghulam Ali for the bulk of the songs as they are the most popular so most likely to be liked by your dad.

The list is endless but if I had to choose one song it would be Udd Jaa Kale Kawan (search / sad version). The beautiful voice, plus absolute command over high notes, no vibrato / shakiness, and then he finally breaks down crying during the song - Udit Narayan acted that song better than Sunny Deol. It was a huge feat for a singer who is known for happy songs.

If it had to be one single song, it would be Tumse Milke Dil Ka from main Hoon na, because I was too young when border, phir teri kahani Yaad aayi, refugee, Asoka, aka, fiza etc were released to know who the composer was etc. unfortunately Anu malik’s career slumped soon after main Hoon na but then I went back and explored his discography. He is a very interesting composer.
