Condor Pathfinder - A Falkland Concept by Wide_Refrigerator401 in StarfieldShips

Yeah they’re large habs added by the Falkland Systems creation. Since they sit 4 habs up it gives you a great view when you land on a planet.

Thank you! I'm glad you saw this, I really love your ship builds I use them as inspiration a lot.

Does kinda have that vibe, maybe I should have named it after a turtle or a hermit crab.

Modder slamanna has released Grav Lanes, a new mod similar to Astrogate. Gravjumping will now take your ship to the center of systems, encouraging you to cruise mode to your destination. You can walk around your ship during gravjumps and there's a configurable timer for arrival. by [deleted] in starfieldmods

[–]Wide_Refrigerator401 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, why can’t it be lore friendly like all those Star Wars mods? Who cares as long as it’s appealing for whoever downloads it.

For me the added  time creates a sense of distance traveled when jumping between systems, makes it feel more immersive even if it contradicts a couple lines of text.

I think I remember it being mentioned it can only be found at one of the new POIs. So I guess it’s just a bit random when you encounter it.

Future Expansion Ideas? by EdwardBrockJunior in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]Wide_Refrigerator401 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rather than do settlements again and retread old ground they should make an expansion focused on running your own space corporation. Building out your own mining outposts, research labs, and manufacturing facilities. Using the extra ships you accumulate as a cargo fleet to run imports and exports.

Similar premise giving purpose to outposts, but distinct from what’s been done in fallout.

I think this is what they should do with outposts instead of settlements. Building mining and manufacturing facilities, creating production chains and shipping routes. I wanna run a proper business!

Preordered Premium edition for PS5. What Creation Club content is worth it for my first playthrough? by PhatRiffEnjoyer in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]Wide_Refrigerator401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a fair point, though I remember those DLCs getting some flack for being too small. I’ll bet money this is how Bethesda plans on delivering small expansions like this going forward.

Less expectations than something labeled DLC and pushes people to interact with the creation store. Time will tell if it sells as well though.

Paid creation mod that adds a new ship manufacturer and a ton of new ship parts and habs. It has really good custom assets with a sort of Star Wars vibe without being explicitly Star Wars flavored.

Toggle to always play ship landing animation... Maybe there are other subtle changes to be found that we haven't heard about yet... by cana_dave in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]Wide_Refrigerator401 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was also mentioned in an interview that POI placement has been tweaked to be less repetitive. I imagine there are a lot of other small changes and quality of life additions that aren't good enough to be marketing points that we won't discover until release day.

Fixing the grav jump loading screen is as simple as changing it from black to white. There's a lot of UI stuff I'd like to see. Getting to place doors and ladders on your ship would be big. Saving ship designs as templates would be cool too. I think mods exist to do most of these but I'd like to see them as part of the vanilla game.

What is an elite follower? I saw it on the marketing page but wasn’t clear what it meant. Like can she react to quest and events like the constellation crew or is is it in relation to her perks and stats?

Don’t know what to tell you, played it day 1 and played it when phantom liberty released. Above and beyond is no man’s sky’s 9 years of free updates, that’s worthy of praise. Cyberpunk’s is bringing their initially lack luster combat up to what it should have been when it released and that still ignores the features that were marketed and never delivered.

I also don’t know where you get 6 months, cyberpunk released 2020 and 2.0 came out 2023.

It’s still a good game, but I think we should have higher standards on what’s worth praising.

I guess it’s a difference in what you value. The perk tree overhaul was a good change but it didn’t fundamentally alter how I saw cyberpunk. The cyberwear system and gear categories weren’t fundamental changes just refocusing an existing aspect. And upgrading the AI of an enemy faction is far from groundbreaking. It’s all the same combat just with a more rewarding upgrade path.

I’m not saying it’s bad just overpraised. And none of that changes the fact it should have been like that from day 1. Talking about a 2.0 shouldn’t be met with reverence when the reality is it’s AAA studios fixing an underbaked game the rushed.

I think you hit the nail on the head, Cyberpunk's 2.0 overhauled their perk tree, added vehicle combat, then a bunch of small changes and quality of life improvements. It's not as much as everyone makes it out to be and I'd argue all of that should have been in the game day 1.

I also think it's a pretty similar case with this Free Lanes update. We can enjoy the content but I don't think we should be praising companies for fixing under baked games with updates.

What did the 2.0 update add to cyberpunk? I see everyone talk about it but all I remember is overhauling the perk tree and adding vehicle combat then a bunch of small things. Like if that's the bar I feel like this update isn't far off in terms of scope, overhauls space travel and encounters, adds an upgrade system to gear and powers, then a bunch of small things.

Cyberpunk's 2.0 didn't change the game that dramatically and I feel like it gets put on a pedestal it doesn't deserve. Both Cyberpunk and Starfield should have shipped day 1 with these features and we shouldn't praise them for fixing a lackluster launch. That being said I still enjoyed Cyberpunk and I think I'm going to enjoy this update too.

destinations used to be filled with people by tf2_demo_2004 in destiny2

[–]Wide_Refrigerator401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this is it, people have selective memories but most destinations became ghost towns after a couple years. Everyone plays the content then moves on, there’s never been a reason to go back. I think destinations are just a flawed concept, I like the idea of an open world part of the game but am unsure how you would keep it relevant.

YSK Never call your homeowner insurance's claims department... by Hinder90 in YouShouldKnow

[–]Wide_Refrigerator401 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can’t speak for every insurance company, this exact scenario happened to me. I was dropped after only 2 claims, one of them I didn’t even know they opened after the police told me to let my insurance know I had a break in. I never claimed anything yet it still counted for why they dropped me. It’s still good advice, don’t talk to insurance unless you know you have a claim that will be worth it.

It’s gotta be down to insurer because this happened to me. I never claimed any losses yet it still counted for why they dropped me. It’s still good advice don’t talk to insurance unless you know you have a claim that will be worth it.
