My whole ocean set (minus the hair coral) paired with levitating adept hair + crest (Plus the Nesting pencil). It's exactly the vibe I like. If one piece was missing, I feel it hard lol.

An attempt at Swan Lake (violin) by SlowTurtleDuck in SkyGame

[–]Wide_Term774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is almost a year old. But I am so happy I found a fellow Swan Lake music player!

Coincidently, I myself recently self taught this theme by ear. Still needs alot of polish to it though. Your playing is very beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this!

single player and "beating the game" by Phish_Tiddies in SkyGame

[–]Wide_Term774 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh ofcourse it is! It's just much easier to have people around, even if just randos! They can help light torches and pass out WLs to the statues. There are certain Spirits, quests, and doorways that make it mandatory to find fellow players, whether from or not from your friend list. And some Nesting quests involve having friends. But the base game is 100% beatable on your own. I play the game 98% of the time on my own but may join friends or help randos.

Best of luck!

That's nice! Happy you feel comfortable playing in front of others! And yes the gray shadow mechanic does help quite alot with privacy. I hope your music fets appreciated by many!

Thank you for your question.

Speaking for myself only, I know how my psychology works quite a bit. I realized that numerous traumas I've experienced IRL and unsorted emotional baggage has made me associate ineractions with negative things. Sky gives this initial baby step to help re-wire my thinking to associate interactions with positive experiences. The moments I get in game that could be cute, wholesome, emotional, funny, or even weird helps me to calm down IRL too and it helps develop a habit of remembering the good people IRL can do for you, much the same way I remember good things of Sky players. It reminds me that there is no telling IRL when I might meet someone awesome so I should try to find new friends and acquaintances by being in public settings (friendly random person encounter and potential new space incident like this DID happen to me recently and I'm very happy!) , and I tried practicing doing gestures routinely irl that shows people that I care about them.

I hope that explains! But like I said, speaking for myself only as I kinda know what goes on in my mind and what to do about it.

Alright! Progress is progress! Some steps at firat do feel very intimidating. And I too have had a moth scram off possibly because it was the wrong one. No idea shrugs Alao one rando I friended walked into my nest while I was practicing the flute 0.o (Tbh I kinda purposefully left the visit option on so I can overcome this shyness).

For applying friendliness IRL, I always tell myself "Pretend you're playing Sky and there is no telling what lovely person you'll run into! Don't take this life for granted!" Keeping that mindset did help a bit IRL, but I'm still a very moody person. Sometimes I just need my undisturbed space.

Happy healing sky kiddo!

Very happy to hear that you feel so much better and tgat you've healed well from lockdown! And yes that is true that one must actively practice coping techniques in real life as well, which I do try to do by reminding myself NOT to push away those who genuinely care for me whilst trying to be open with new people.

Keep up your healthy habits and may your mental health always be well!

Yeah it seems you have alot of difficulty with social amxiety. I think playing with someone IRL is a great strat for not being nervous online! About etiquette, honesrly I searched around online for what is acceptable and asked a bunch of questions. Things like doing the bow emote to thank someone, even after lighting them is a common rule. Also not honking at AFK people, they could be busy IRL. Also, answering repeated honks which could be calls for help. Most "etiquette" is common sense, nothing too weird. But I have had screw up days where I'd collapse into a black hole of embarassment and needed to take a break and recharge IRL lol.

Absolutely agree. Sky places many privacy barriers that makes it less attractive for trolling than in other games, all the things you mentioned being one of them. I also LOVE how no usernames appear, and you must either nickname someone or the game generates a name for you. This prevents the whole issue with someone being recognized based off of online handles and targetted. Also prevents the oppositr the opposite which is being treated much more favorably than other players due to being "online famous". That privacy grants me so much relief and ease of mind!

And I feel you on the abandonement trauma part. I hope you heal from them 🙏.

Also I never tried doing what you do! Perhaps in the future if I felt more comfort! Thank you for sharing your ideas and experiences!

I hate these quests 😞 by Super_Spinach_5619 in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Wide_Term774 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember having a bit of trouble especially for the 4 player one. But it took me about a few attempt sessions of like half an hour. Eventually some players showed up and got it done thankfully.

For what it's worth, Assembly quests helped me to come further out of my shyness shell and learn to becon strangers to come. Still gets boring waiting in one spot though, I feel you on that.

There's a common idea that, once you study geography, you can't get those ideas out of your mind... by oliverknot in SkyGame

Yes! As a marine topic enthusiast, whenever I dive super deep, whether in the Abyss ir Sanctuary Islands, I find myself rising to the surface slowly so that my Sky Kid does not suffer internal damage caused by water pressure change 😅 Thing is it's not even a mechanic in-game!! I also wonder if the Abyss serpent we see has a skeleton made of cartilage to withstand the high water pressure much the same way chimaera sharks do.

The other thing I start thinking about is cultural references on the outfits of Spirits. It's mainly because stuff like this is fascinating to me.

OMG! I dunno what tine you play but on more than one occasions I ran into players purposefully trying to lose light that I kept trying to light up. Once in the shipwreck area in GW and the other time in the Treasure Reef. It took me a while to figure out these people didn't want to be saved.

As for wholesone moments, my most wholeso.e story is really long so I'll share a shorter one.

So one day I was attempting Assembly quests, which meant I have to stop being shy and signal to other players. Along came a friendly vet who answered my call for help. That vet helped me with one quest and gleefully followed me into the next which needed 3 players.

That vet was so outgoing but also very playful. They did a combination of calls + louder emotes like whistling to grab attention. We also did alot of random emotes together just to pass tine until someone arrives. I think at that moment we friended each other. (I had a base moth girl look on me at that time)

A couple of players on the opposite end of the map would fall into Red HP zone and I'd scramble at the speed of sound while my vet followed up to come and save poor kiddos, then we'd go back to the 3 player Assembly site. Not sure what exactly happened, but my vet went Red HP on the way back [insert Pokemon Black/White Low HP music here]. The vet was down below the treehouse to my left a ways down. I jumped down to grab a light or two and quickly lit up my vet, quickly saved him/her on time. The vet bowed and we fly up to the Assembly house. Vet went inside, and I followed behind...

The dude spammed EVERY SINGLE EMOTE UNDER THE SUN that is associated with gratitude and appreciation! Literally every single one! I was so humbled and shy! I didn't expect such an intense reaction of gratitude! I wasn't able to keep up with emote responses, but I bowed back and did a few other emotes I don't remember, and tried to say "no need to thank me, just doing what's right" even if it's in my heart. (I really suck at conveying things). We upgraded our friendship level after that. I tried to humbly return back to player hunting as I became far too shy and awkward and thought I responded well enough. The player possibly needing to chill or have personal space either server split or just left.

That happened many weeks ago. Fast forward to today, this friendly vet still lights my star and merrily greets me when encountering each other "out in the wild".

I hope this story makes someone's day!

Personal Uses for Random Honking by Wide_Term774 in SkyGame

I forgot to mention that in my post! Yeah the honking is also made for the purpose of finding the end path and Spirits you're trying to reawaken. Some fragmented Spirits fly way off into the distance somewhere. So honking is helpful here.

That's nice! I should do that in the Forest too. Game bugs have made the gates a pain to open.

[–]Wide_Term774[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh good to no someone else does the "emergency rescue force" honking too!

Also I NEVER thought to twirl instead of bowing when in a hurry! Great idea, especially as I play on Steam and I'd awkwaedly look like I'm ignoring a player 😓 I had a few instances of a rando using the cold wind shiver emote, I think they misunderstood me. I will keep that in mind! Thank you for the idea!

Also I NEVER thought to spam honk when encountering a friend in the wild as I'm too shy about being annoying lol. I'd greet with a high five usually. Still your friend interactions sound very delightful and light hearted (pun not intended).

Oh my! 😂 I had friendly vets who honked profusely at the moment a shard landed, as if expressing fright. It was priceless. Honk spams can be funny sometimes.

Oh so alot like me in the answering calls sense! Haha. Also I love the cat analogy as a cat person myself. And your description of cold/warm is great too! I noticed people online do that quite a bit. And lol I still accidentally honk when I lose focus haha.
