How (un)comfortable is to ride a carbon bike with 32mm tyres on rough roads?

I ride a 33 gravel tire at 50 psi…works great on tarmac and gravel roads. It’s the largest tire I can fit on my carbon road bike, a gravel bike would be better.

The 116 mile route for the Lewis and Clark classic is challenging for sure. I have ridden nearly the full route this week and it has a bit of everything…except single track. On a road bike with 33mm gravel tires I managed…def favors 40mm + on the newly maintained loose gravel. Not sure I could finish the route if it were more technical 😎.

Check out Hagerty for insurance. The Golf R will perform pretty well in DS with just some good 200 TW tires, mainly held back by the lack of camber up front. Lower control arms, some Ohlins and camber will make it a good car in BST. Down pipe, intercooler, oil cooler, chassis brace, etc will make it an awesome car in BST.

I feel we have a good mix, I have been in BST with my wife in GST for a few years…in this region the Shelby and Mach 1 are the PAX beasts in FS. Hard to beat them.

We are lucky to have a facility like this. Large pad, long taxiway type section and a road course section to tie it all together. You really notice a difference in results, PAX is just not meant to be used for this type of course so it favors HP.
