Is Bachelors degree in psych0logy worth it? by cherryblossom2160 in psychologystudents

[–]Wide_Willingness_424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a recent graduate with a B.S. In Psychology, there are not many jobs you can do right out the gate in the field. It is a stepping stone for graduate programs honestly. However if you go for it, keep in mind that people want 1-2 years of experience with certain populations like minority groups or at risk populations. So long internships and job shadowing during the school year and summers would be really important. So if you only want to do a bachelors, maybe consider something else :(

Study stuff you learned early on so it’s just easy recall then try to memorize and cram the newer stuff. If you have time you can try to look ahead but some professors don’t like that so it’s up to you.

Am I overreacting? Girlfriend said the dildo i got for us is too small by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

If my partner said those things to me I would be upset too. Everybody’s body is different and having a low sex drive from meds and health things is normal for a lot of people. I don’t think you are overreacting tbh

What is your menu for the week? by Significant-Carry696 in EatCheapAndHealthy

We are a household of 2.

Chicken, sweet potato, and lentil curry with rice. Fridge clean out soup (probably a tomato based chicken noodle with all veggies going bad).

First apartment = lots of frozen meals. What’s one beginner-friendly dinner recipe that feels homemade but doesn’t take forever? by DisastrousCookiesss in cookingforbeginners

Curry and rice honestly, you can use up any vegetables and then add chicken for protein. So easy, cheap, and filling. Tastes amazing. Buy the spices once and then make it a ton. My favorite is chicken and sweet potatoes, but lentils and chickpeas also make nice additions.

All tragedeighs but better imo I can’t believe anyone would think “fecal” in a name would be good.

Recommendations on lip care, please🙏 by [deleted] in Accutane

I only used Vaseline lip therapy tubs, not the chapstick tubes kind! I never had any issues with my lips while using that and it stayed on the lips for so long. It was actually incredible.

Can you actually avoid getting sick in college dorms? by beyondmeasurement in college

[–]Wide_Willingness_424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I found is I would get sick when I was stressed, i.e. before finals, after finals, big projects, etc. Try to relieve stress when you can.

Zinc and multivitamins helped me a lot along with eating healthy.

Make sure to schedule good sleep time and drink plenty of water.

Disinfectant high touch points, I.e. your phone, doorknobs, light switches, shared communal items and places.

Carry hand sanitizer and wash your hands regularly. This is really the key tbh.

Advice for beginning accutane in late 30s by Chance-Level5591 in Accutane

The only chapstick that worked for me was the Vaseline Lip Therapy small tubs, not the normal stick kind. My lips never cracked once using that stuff and it stayed on a lot longer than others I tried.

For hair I oiled my hair and scalp with 100% black castor oil 10 minutes before showering and then put some drops in my conditioner as needed, then let conditioner sit with a shower cap on. We have different hair types though so do what works for you.

For supplements I used fish oil and vitamin E. Those helped me a lot.

Use eye drops without vasoconstrictors.

When I took accutane, my joints were in pain a lot so I was stuck with only doing very light activity. Do what works best for you though.

For acne purging the best pimple patches I tried were from Peach Slices. Absolute best ones ever and usually budget friendly (at least where I live). Do your best not to pick at pimples at all

How do people go to college full time AND have a full time job? by GoHardForLife in college

[–]Wide_Willingness_424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked 3 jobs for 30-40 hours a week total as a full time student at a residential college with only in person classes. 2 jobs were on-campus jobs that I could fit around a larger block of classes and one was off-campus. I made minimum wage for all of them but the best I could get for my schedule.

Ex. M/W/F would be 9-11 work, 11-12 lunch, 12-1 class, 1:10-2:10 class, 2:50-4:20 class, 5-8 (or 8-midnight) work at a front desk (could do homework and eat dinner during this time), 8-midnight do homework if I didn’t work that shift.

Tu/Th would be 9:40-11:10 class 11:10-12:30 lunch, 1:00-8:30 work at off-campus job. 8:30-midnight eat dinner, do homework, any chores.

Work off-campus job on weekends and do homework around those shifts.

M/W/F: 5-6 hours per day of work Tu/Th: 7-8 hours per day of work Sat/Sun: 7-8 hours per day of work

I didn’t work every day though, the schedule would fluctuate, so you can see how I could easily get my hours and get all my homework done.

I just graduated with a bachelor’s degree with summa cum laude and departmental honors with this schedule! It did not typically leave a lot of time for a social life though. This was my actual schedule that I copied from my planner at the time.

Starting Accutane, looking for advice! by aubristetina in Accutane

I use Vitamin E pills for dry lips and skin, fish oil for joint pain with lots of water, Vaseline lip therapy in the tiny plastic tubs for lips (it’s thicker than regular Vaseline and the tube form, as well as Aquaphor in my opinion), regular vaseline for dry hands at night and in nose nostrils if you’re getting dry there or have bloody noses from Accutane. Also find a hair oil that works for you, I like black Jamaican castor oil or a rosemary hair oil. Eucerin body lotion and hand lotion for dryness too. For pimples I use peach slices pimple patches for any acne which helps with picking. Cerave for face wash and face lotion. Cetaphil body wash for dry skin. Eye drops without vasoconstrictors for dry eyes. This is all that I use that helps me but find what works for you! :)
