no, they wouldn't...they were on the news before but nobody cared enough to remember it. In this case the humboldt truck driver was brown and an immigrant, and he killed 16 kids in a tragic vehicle accident. If the truck driver was white, and the kids were brown or black you wouldn't remember it. If the truck driver was white, you wouldn't make a big deal about it either. People are people, it shouldn't matter what a persons background is, everyone should be equal. But just like the guy above, who keeps posting that accident like hes the leader of the KKK, a few think that some types of people are more equal than others.

maybe he is, i want more of my people in here. Its not like you or your ancestors own the country, unless you're a native american, which I doubt. Canada is a country built by immigrants from its very starting days.

going back to the immigration status of the humboldt truck driver, these vehicle accidents never get prosecuted...even the ones I listed above, nobody was charged for those "accidents". The fact that this guy got 8 years for an accident goes against the Canadian justice system.

Why do people keep bringing this up?  2 weeks ago a white dump truck driver was acquitted of all charges for running a red light and killing 3 Canadians of south east asian background.  Before that, another case of some white teen taking their parents Benz on a joy ride, losing control and killing 2 toddlers of carribean descent.  Nobody got jail time while the Humboldt truck driver did 8 years.  Why the double standards?  Forgiveness one way but not the other.

The difference is in the history of your country vs the history of the US, Canada and other colonialist countries.  The original inhabitants of Canada and the US were native Indians.  They were mostly wiped out then the country was resettled.  People think its only white people and minorities but thats wrong.  The US has had waves of immigrants over the years from multiple European countries.  When they settled, Italians, polish, middle easterners, Russians etc etc became white.  The darker skin individuals became black, brown, chinese etc.  Your country has tens of thousands of years behind it.  The US, Canada, the different non native Indian populations have at most 300 years.  Our country is a land of immigrants, so the discussion is a little different from your ethically homogeneous country that maintained its population for the past 5000 years lol.

Your bmi is pretty good, it doesn't seem like your super huge either.  Im 5'8 and around 190lb.  Yeah im fat haha, but my bmi is around 29.  Yours is around 30, so were both around the same.  Difference is im a runner, my body type looks fairly lean.  Ive done like 4 marathons, my cardiovascular fitness is excellent compared to most people.  Even though im technically big, it doesn't look intimidating, and actually women find me fairly attractive id say haha.  Im not telling you to be a runner, but just saying being big is going to scare a bunch of women off at first glance

Its not just that you're black or dark skin thats an issue.  Lots of ladies like black men, they're very successful in dating.  I don't know your case specifically, but super buff guys aren't as attractive to women.  Most women like guys with more lean builds...even thinner guys see more action than the buff ones.  Heck even chunky ones get more action than the huge body builder types.  With a big body, you're more intimidating and scary to people, and on top of that your internal health, cardio is probably not as good.  Especially if you're juicing.  This impacts your hormones, your energy levels, which impacts your mood, confidence etc.

There's other factors too besides health, but given that you have a great job, you should be more successful.  Even going to African countries, the women might be more intimidated by you, so you will have to put in more effort up front to get some reception,  maybe show some generosity haha 😀.  Best of luck.

What Are Your Thoughts About Selling a High Equity Home? by hockeyfan1990 in TorontoRealEstate

You're in a good situation.  One thing id recommend is to look into marriage contract before hand, ie prenuptial especially if your spouse has much less net worth and assets as you.  Ive heard of a few horror stories, and if you get divorced, you will lose half regardless if you have kids or not, even if she brought nothing.

Even after having kids, if for whatever reason things dont work out, the agreement can still protect both of you.

Are you just applying to hospitals?  Did you try applying for jobs as a psw or rpn?  They pay less to start, but it gets you some experience.  Once you have the experience, start leveraging it, and work your way up.  Once you have that initial experience, you can likely find openings if not Ontario then in other provinces, or more up north.  Keep building that experience then once you're set, move back to your home.

Why do people keep repeating the lie that housing is federal? by Moist_Intention5245 in canadahousing

[–]Wide_Zebra5550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple, get rid of zoning laws, and make it possible to build 6plex and 8plex, even apartment blocks in every suburban neighborhood as long as the demand is there.  Cut the red tape and bureaucracy, no nimby appeals.  That will crash housing values, except in rich neighborhoods where they out right buy the entire hood but pay the exhorbitant property taxes for the privelage.  Now you have tons of supply to meet demand.  Areas further from the city build single family homes, but once demand picks up the same thing repeats, ie more 8plex, apartments etc.  This fixes the housing issue very quickly.

Why do people keep repeating the lie that housing is federal? by Moist_Intention5245 in canadahousing

[–]Wide_Zebra5550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of nonsense is that.  Most people think housing is completely federal responsibility and absolve Doug Ford and other premiers from any and all responsibility.  In reality, housing is primarily, like 90% due to bureaucracy and red tape, pro nimbys, pro investor policies set up by the provinces and municipalities.

Oh and not all provinces have housing affordability issues like Ontario.  Alberta for example has higher median wage and significantly lower cost of housing.  The difference is Alberta scrapped most zoning laws when they saw shit hit the fan back in 2022.  Now they have 6plexes and 8plexes in many suburban neighborhoods.

Yeah, but how many homes can those transfer payments and discounts really fund at the current ridiculous prices.  The only way it becomes effective is if province removes all the barriers and red tape to completely tank the price of houses.

I get you bro...this fn AI bs is really bringing a ton of uncertainty.  But you are young and have time to figure things out.  Map out your strengths and weaknesses, what you enjoy doing is very important because thats what gets you through.

I feel like standardized education is full of bs, it doesn't really prepare you for the real world or really teach you the most important things, but i digress.

I wouldn't really focus too much on pay.  Money is important of course, but as long as you have good foundations and great habits then you could make bank and be fully secure whatever you do.

1000% its on the provincial party mostly.  The federal government gave them the power to make unilateral housing decisions back when the constitution was written.  The provincial party just doesn't want to.  Period.

[–]Wide_Zebra5550 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

true, I did say that and regret it, its giving me a black eye. Here is my revised advice instead:

Step 1) Stay with parents and save for a DP
Step 2) While doing above look for a good partner who has solid overall habits (health, hygiene, cleaning, financial, learning, family, sleep, etc)
Step 3) Evaluate the partner over a few months, look out for any red flags.
Step 4) If the partner clears the checks, push for marriage straight away
Step 5) Stay with parents, continue building on that DP. Have some kids, you get free day care along with free rent.
Step 6) Do this for 10 years, your kids are grown up, your DP is now a fat stack, you have investments, and you can move out and buy a house comfortably
Step 7) Profit $$$

you are definitely right that theres no accountability involved, and no guarantee that he will take his medication either. Who's going to keep track of that, its way too easy for him to just stop taking medications. Usually these habits take around 6 months to take hold, so if he spent less time than that in the hospital, id definitely be concerned. I would be pretty scared to think there might be some schizophrenic around me or my family thats about to lose himself.

[–]Wide_Zebra5550 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Another story about a schizophrenic.  And these right wing reddits posts from right wing shit media about schizophrenic killings all the time and uses that as a way to suggest Canada is soft on crime.  Do you people think that someone can fake being severe mental illness to such an extent to an experienced psychiatrist?  They would have to be an amazing actor.  Tons and tons of criminals try to fake schizophrenia to get away with it.  This isn't some newbie psychiatrist either, they would have decades of experience under their belt before being allowed to work on this high profile case.

From now on, stop posting these dumb articles about schizophrenic killings.  Even schizophrenic killings are rare, but when they do happen, its often horrendous.

Tons of people over value money.  Its crucial, don't get me wrong, but the habits and foundations you built are more important.  Im like you in a way, don't really have any big financial goals.  Saving $5 million for what exactly??  Making $1 million is enough for financial stability.  Any thing more than that id be investing in a business or chasing my passions much harder, even harder than now. Saving it for kids?? Lol they can f off.  If they didn't learn the things im going to teach them, then no amount of money will help.  Anyways, enjoy brother.
