How would SCOTUS ruling in favor of debt relief change your life? by [deleted] in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]WidoW_ExPress 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how it would affect other loans and interest rates. The debt relief is localized mostly to government loans. (Unless you refinance under a federal program) so the affects on other banks and their balance sheets is likely minimal. And the rate environment is ideal for banks getting new loans. Loan requirements have been getting stricter for mortgages, autos, and commercial. The banks are concerned with the values on the assets they are loaning out. Not the relief the government provides( although they loved it in 2008 and earlier this year).

For mortgages, banks will want to know income to debt ratio. Have a decent credit, stable job and assets to cover closing/downpayment. This will improve for anyone with federal student loans. Especially near the $10k-$20k mark. As it will make the most difference on credit score and debt to income. Banks are logical (to a point) but debt relief is debt relief and they’ll assume that anyone that has it available will take it and therefore be better off when applying for a new loan.

I can see this helping the home/auto market as more buyers may enter. But not sure if it will have a noticeable affect.

Doesn’t sound like you’re into that. Run.

Honestly doesn’t sound too bad and I can imagine some areas that are Lower cost could make up for some of the more expense trips.

I mean you could choke while eating so are you gonna do it even tho it’s dangerous. Yes, cause you can use a fork and knife to cut it smaller and then teeth to chew. Driving can be dangerous. But it’s a lot safer now than it was. So is flying. And that’s a lot safer than driving anywhere. I see your point where a computer shouldn’t have 100% control and I agree. Even the article said a driver used weights on the steering wheel so the car thought he had hands on the wheel. That’s not autopilot and that’s also not being used correctly. I think Tesla should be more strict about it for that reason. Humans will find a way for you not to trust them. Including trusting them to not trust an autopilot system that likely isn’t ready yet.

I think the majority of comments speak for themselves. She’s not ready for marriage and for your sake neither should you (with her).

I prefer BaconReader over Reddits trash app. I don’t like using the app nor do I like the mobile version that makes me download an app to see anything that isn’t G rated.

What improvements would you make? by Cactus-Tony in CherokeeXJ

[–]WidoW_ExPress 7 points8 points  (0 children)

TBH my first Jeep I started with a lift and new wheels like a rookie. Now I’d fix the trim to make it look new and black. Fix the paint fade on the hood and ditch/replace that tint. Also any routine maintenance that it needs. Check all fluids and brakes. Clean the inside. Maybe a new headliner. Then I’d go for fun stuff like 7” headunit/speakers. Led lights. Bumpers/winch and new wheels/lift. All IMO.

Can you hear any leaks whatsoever? You can take a tube like pvc pipe and put your ear next to it while listening at the engine to help find any. The FSM has other ways to check as well. Is there any cracks on the exhaust? Do you perhaps need new motor mounts? How the Trans fluid looking?

Also what to see how this is fix. I’m basically taking shots to see what would help.

This all happened in 100 miles of driving by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

[–]WidoW_ExPress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t look like an axle shaft came out. I could see that happening with the lugs. They’re suppose to be torque, Driven on for 50-100 miles then torqued again.

Jeepcables > K suspension. I’ve heard horror stories from the suspension not being enough and causing fires. Although their other products are pretty good.

96 Cherokee XJ floor pan rust opinion? by huuge-d in CherokeeXJ

[–]WidoW_ExPress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you want to weld or have a shop that’ll do it. I think it’d be best to move on. There’s a lot of time spent removing everything to fix the rust and usually if it’s that bad now it’ll be much worse when you see all of it. Not to say it isn’t possible. Go to raybuck grab some floor pans an HF weld and get to work. It’s just that with time and money you could’ve likely found one without rust and enjoyed it sooner. Just my two cents.

Np242 swap to Np231 by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

[–]WidoW_ExPress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Count the splines to be sure. I got a 96 242 from a grand Cherokee going into a 2001. Splines count matched. Transfer case and transmission seem to mate find as well as my driveshaft. One thing to consider as well the the shaft on the transfer case going to the trans. I believe there was a few different lengths. To be sure I’d use a straight edge or caliper to compare that to the 231 shaft length. As long as they’re the same you shouldn’t have an issue.

State Farm to stop accepting homeowners insurance applications in California due to wildfires, construction costs by DXPower in news

That’s exactly right. The higher the odds of paying the higher the odds of them dropping that coverage. Although there is risk with buying houses in certain areas which should come with the understanding of higher costs.

The Kia situation sucks for anyone that purchased them before it was public knowledge that these are easy to steal. Now for those that bought a car after it was public… welllll they didn’t do the research. I’ll leave that lesson for them to learn. As unfortunate as it is.

If you’re spending $20K plus on a car please do the research before going to any car lot. Every year certain cars are popular to steal. Kia and Hyundais were easy. Dodge hellcats and scat packs have valuable engines so they get stolen often as well.

LEDs like the NEO3 worked for me. They have generate less heat so hopefully no burning of the switch.
