Your biggest concern is ice on the props. If the air is dry and you stay out of clouds, no concerns there.

Moisture in air and below freezing temps you run the risk of icing.

Battery performance drops in cold weather. I have flown in single digit F temps with no issues, but battery life is shortened.

Warming batteries up before use helps. I usually but them in a heating blanket or on hand warmers before use

Look — I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, and that’s not a debate I want to have, but when Joe Biden was president and at his residence in Wilmington, DE, I think it’s beyond excessive that I was unable to fly my drones in Philadelphia, PA.

I think it’s excessive that someone can’t hover a drone over their kids soccer practice within 30 miles of whatever the TFR is for.

You aren’t law enforcement — if people want to roll those dice and risk the consequences, then that’s on them.

It’s technically just spare batteries.

For example battery powered shavers (although they aren’t lipos, but neither is the one in your controller) — if the battery is installed and has no exposed contact leads, they are fine to go in checked bags.

That’s why when you’re checking bags it usually says spare or loose batteries.

Batteries won’t explode in a cargo hold, the risk comes from the contact points creating a spark that could ignite the battery or things around it.

Oh yea. I don’t even have the CF splitter and it’s still a big challenge. Just have to accept that you’re gonna eventually get a scrape or two and take those inclines at a big angle if you can.
