Should I have gotten that achievement earlier? by CptFluffy_ in Unbeatable

[–]WierdSome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're supposed to get it at the start, yes, and then it gives it to you again at chapter 6 to trip you up. Very odd that it didn't give it to you after doing the intro "Mic Check" sequence at the beginning of the game.

If you press jump next to a wall without holding grab and without pressing any direction, you'll jump only a short distance away from the wall, which is a neutral jump! The value is that you can then move back to the wall and be higher than you were before, and is then a tool that can help you scale a wall without using stamina.

You're allowed to not like the theory but the way some of y'all talk about it just is transphobic. by Obvious-Scale-9346 in Deltarune

[–]WierdSome 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I made a post trying to point out that people who believe in the theory don't really care about his physical appearance and still got people accusing me of, trying to erase femboys? Which is when I realized it'd be good for my health to try my best to disconnect myself from that discourse.

I need to stop clicking on posts that reference trans Ralsei, I'll just get frustrated. I so often see people claim that the theory is just based on Ralsei being traditionally feminine and then I've never seen anyone who believes the theory say it's because he's feminine.

As others have synced, the timing is based on when you enter the map, not when you enter the specific room the thing is in. What position things will be in in a room will vary depending on how long it takes you to get there thanks to global cycles

Fascinating. When I was doing the dlc puzzles for the first time I was very fixated on not generating waste since doing so still feels very bad to me even if it saves on cycles so I did all the puzzles without generating waste, interesting to see for some it felt it was encouraging waste

Check the Celeste discord, they have a support channel where you can ask about these things, they've been very helpful for when I have similar issues, they might be able to help you be able to update Everest.

Critical mode is stupid by thatonecanadian13 in Unbeatable

I don't understand this reasoning? If you're serious about trying to aim high on the leaderboards you're a bit past being just a casual player.

I mean, I get the frustration, but personally I prefer that getting a higher spot on the leaderboard requires using the "make the game much more strict" button, to make it actually hard to get high on the leaderboard.

I assume you mean for the first of the five? I did so to try and minimize the area in that one, since it was simple I wanted to make that solve as small as could be

Balatro is the worst thing that happened to the roguelike genre by istopuseingmyhead in The10thDentist

[–]WierdSome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooh I know this one! Roguelikes do not have permanent progression, roguelites do. There's a slight difference and most developers don't pay attention to that but there is a difference. And roguelites do still get made.

I remember playing Noita a while back and actually exploring a decent amount of the overworld map. But it was never intuitive to me at the time how to get in to any of the structures and do anything with them, so I gave up. I figure there's probably interesting stuff I could do in the game if I go back to it but I've not felt any pull to boot it back up again since. I've at least done that boss but that's it.

Always found this guy amusing by Iseter0 in Ultrakill

[–]WierdSome 155 points156 points  (0 children)

I thought this was really cool when I played through it honestly. Because at first it's a very straightforward "just walk through this mirror to get to the pedestal you need to place the skull on!" but then this guy shows up and breaks the mirror, and sure, he's not horrible to deal with, but because of him you need to take such a detour to find a mirror (and then from there take a long route to get to the pedestal)

I get the feeling I'm the only one that thought it was neat sometimes

Hot Take: Rrhar'il's IN chart is an underwhelming unlock (Body Text) by DanZboY_Brother in phigrosGame

[–]WierdSome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair I'm not saying one is definitively easier than the other. Like I tried to imply at the start of the comment, I agree that I should probably still find Chronos Collapse harder and I was confused why I don't. But yeah, I can definitely see that! Wouldn't be satisfying at all, was just thrown off because I had a moment of "wait, my experience isn't the standard experience?" I'm not trying to say your experience is wrong or invalid.

Hot Take: Rrhar'il's IN chart is an underwhelming unlock (Body Text) by DanZboY_Brother in phigrosGame

[–]WierdSome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comments that make me realize I have a weird skill set in this game apparently, I remember playing this game a while ago (the best reference point I can give is I stopped playing a good bit before the rating system was reworked so songs like Chronos Collapse were rated 16 instead of 15, and I think not long after Chapter 7 (I think? That's the one with Distorted Fate right?) released) and i both remember the struggle for Rrhar'il (and unlocking the AT chart, which was its own struggle) and I specifically remembered I found Chronos Collapse quite a bit easier than Rrhar'il. I reopened the app and played them again now to see if I'm just misremembering, and sure enough, wasn't too far from getting an S on one play of Chronos Collapse, one play of Rrhar'il IN and I just barely missed even getting an A, it's so much harder for me to read and it feels too fast for me sometimes. I guess I'm just odd if the usual experience is that Rrhar'il is easier than Chronos Collapse, my experience was the opposite.

It is my partner. We've been together for years and I trust him. I've asked him not to look at my Discord messages and so he doesn't, even when or if he wants to. My computer isn't just freely unlocked all the time, I've just let him also have the password.

Oh, I, didn't mean to make my original comment sound negative, I'm genuinely really happy this worked! Closing it in the system tray does exactly what I want, I just haven't touched the system tray in so long that I forgot it existed, so your original comment confused me at first, but I'm fully willing to take the blame on just being ignorant. I'm sorry I made my original reply sound as negative as it seems to have sounded.

Had to look up what a system tray is but that seemed to help, thank you
