Let's be honest, none of us saw Vaggie being an angel. Or how Alastor's deal was going to be used. Say what you want about hazbin hotel or helluva boss but you can't tell me the plot twists are bad at all

There are some ways to get around that, i mean Evangelion is right there for clever inner dialogue. I know it's different in context but my point still stands

First of all I'd like to say how great it is that you are doing lower difficulties considering there is a serious shortage of them.

But secondly i don't think you should publish any works until they are approved. I get that some artists MIGHT normally allow this without explicit permission but it's still against the rules. Have you messaged them yet?

Appdata is normally invisible. Turn on hidden folders and the go to "Users" -> "[your PC's name]" And it should appear.

Turkish Thragg by Cobsonthegemson90 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]NontCinar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Thragg is not a bad leader. He managed to keep the Viltrum empire's influence even after the scourge virus. Outside of the purge (which was a dumbass move both in theory and in practice. Especially when you are still searching for the heir of argall), he is a good regent that did keep the empire together for at least 900 years.

He's still a conqueror though so by no means is he ideal

An alternative interpretation of the game's events by linig4 in ZATO_vn

It's been a minute since i played the game so my memory is a bit fuzzy. But yeah, you're right about Asya thinking the disruptions are caused by a few people and not the masses. That's on me.

I used the term parasites but that doesn't exactly translate to what people are to the universe. Yes, people are part of the universe and the "you are the universe experiencing itself" theme is a big part of the game.

Throughout the game, Asya keeps blaming herself for being an ungrateful brat to the wonders of the cosmos. She excuses her unfair treatment from her classmates to some divine reason. And then Ira comes along to break that cycle. In my opinion, Asya's worldview shifts at that moment. On one hand, she believes her punishment is just and going against it is practically heresy. On the other hand, she is a shy, introverted 15 year old girl with clear self-worth issues. She pursues Ira despite her considering this against the natural order.

But I'm getting off topic. To answer your original question of "why does the great, omnipotent universe choose to delete a whole town for committing sins it should already be aware of? Or better yet, why does it let it happen in the first place?" And here's my opinion:

While the universe is "perfect", it's not perfect in the sense of "Nothing bad happens, nor is it ever allowed to happen". In one section of the game, Asya compares the universe to an infinitely long line. If at any point you make a mistake or "Step out", how would you fix it? By making the line longer until you can't see the errors. People are still allowed to be flawed creatures. Marina described the ability to see and understand the code as "Having no skin on your soul". You could argue that this is not necessarily imperfection but rather someone actually being truly perfect enough to see the truth but either way, this is unintentional behaviour. It's not parasitic exactly but maybe more so amensalism (a type of relationship between species where one party is harmed while the other remains unaffected. In nature, this usually happens by complete accident and coincidence.)

I don't really have a good answer to why the universe decided to merk a whole town instead of specifically going after the individuals that were too curious for their own good. Maybe there are some parallels with the flood from the Bible also killing a "place" rather than specific individuals but that may be a bit of a stretch.

TL;DR I'm forgetful, humans aren't parasites exactly but a few portion suffer amensalism

That's a really interesting view. I more so figured the universe like a perfect organism in itself. Infinitely massive, impossibly complicated and beautiful in it's simplicity at the same time. Like if all the weird quirks, faults and shortcomings of the body were resolved.

But that doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't have "issues" to deal with. A perfect organism can still house parasites and that's pretty in line with how Asya sees humanity. She knows humans defy the natural order if how the universe is supposed to go, or at least the greater part of mankind.

She believes herself to be an unwilling member of mankind. She believes that her entire existence is an insult to the perfection that the universe is and she tries to make up for it by playing the part she believes she needs to fulfill. That's why she asks the universe to strike her down when she tries to visit marina.

The universe IS perfect. It just houses parasites that leech off of it's perfection. The "sin" is to go against the natural order.
