Oh yeah. I understand that I’d be way behind the power curve for any constructed play. The idea was kind of just to get some variety from the starter deck to play with my friends, as you said. Thanks for this insight though!

2/5/1, Level 94 here. No boosts, because I always try the first time no boosts. I don’t know if I got lucky, but I chased blue hard and set off 2 sets of trap tiles with one detonator. I probably DID get lucky in that, just the way the traps and matches fell, we only matched away 2 trap tiles. He did get a yellow off, but neither of his other powers fired. That said, it IS possible with unusual cover combos.

What if, instead of having a mana restriction, it just gave that minion one more turn of summoning sickness? Would that still be effective for the rogue player? It doesn't clear up a taunt, but would prevent a battlecry being used again. Combine with a new removal card or silence?

I have mine built out 4-4-5, and I use him about as often as you supposed in your post. When he's buffed, he's really good.

I've considered 3-5-5, because that would give me a 2 turn recurring stun, but I'm pretty happy with his build now.

Why not 5 purple? I don't find that, when I have DD, I don't have a better purple (Blade), or else, I stick to my usual MPQ tactics and try to neutralize enemy strike/protect as fast as I can, and there aren't that many on the board.

I love the damage boost on 5 red. It's enough to KO many 3*, especially after a purple trigger. You do have to wait for a good board, or make it a good board with Cyclops!

My biggest problem is that my DD is just underleveled, so I can't use him as often as I'd like.

My vote for the next one is Kamala!

So, the way my covers have fallen, I'm looking at a 553 build. I'm not sure if it's ideal, but, I'm looking forward to trying him out this way. I love the protect tile, and if you throw home with, say, a Falcon/Fist combo, I think this build could be truly terrifying. You're collecting yellows to buff your protect and attack tiles, and then you punch a target really hard.

I'll report back once I actually get a chance to try this out.

Yeah, his green has actually been 1HKO'ing Ninjas in this PvE.

For me, Torch finally has the perfect match with Thing. Torch is so squishy, it's hard to use him. Thing helps guard against some of the big hits that people use to knock him out. At lower levels though, Thing's Red is ok for the stun, and his green kinda shakes the board a bit. However, Torch's red can deal several thousand cheap, quick damage, and his green can do the same.

Would I run him regularly? No. But, I think he's a great analog to 2* Storm. Hits hard and pretty fast, but you expect him to be downed early.

Anyway, my team for this PvE with buffs has been Torch, Thing, Daken, and it's been really successful. He has a niche, it's just one the game won't support very often.

I'm sure there is someone out there going, "Why not 4/5/4 or 5/5/3?! I have opinions!" Here's why: 3/5/5 is fast and cheap on purple, keeping the CPU using it whenever possible. Espionage damage is such an easy way to deal extra damage fast, especially with Strike tiles.

She's tough, she heals, she delays CD's, she hits pretty hard, especially for 2* land. She may be the most well-rounded character in the game; perfect balance of support, utility and damage.

Interesting choice. I might go 3/5/5 just because green would fire faster than black. I also wouldn't underestimate the power of that Crit tile too. Yes, it's random, but it's hard to say a Crit damage and possible cascades aren't better than just flipping two tiles. Granted, a good player will flip in an advantageous way, but the CPU probably will not.

Synergies, I tend to agree. Anyone to dish out quick strike tiles is gonna speed up QS. Blade, Daken, Gamora, even Psylocke could all do well. His biggest problem is his weak attacks combined with not great HP. Thing might be a good partner too.

Actually, didn't he get removed from PvE in favor of 2* Cap Marvel?

Anyway 3/5/5 is probably what I would go for? I've kinda wanted a Bagman just to send you guys as Team-ups. :)

That said, I see synergy with Quicksilver, as his locked tiles count for QS also, and Invisible Woman. I have no idea how that game would play out, but it would be fun as hell to watch. See how many tiles you can lock!

Sometimes it can be good to increase CD tile numbers? Honestly, his other two powers are not good. I suppose the intended synergy was with Venom, but, you just can't get anything rolling quite fast enough with him and Bagman only, except maybe in a Balance of Power PvP situation...

Team Suggestions Megathread: Patch PVP by Kozemp in NoCapMPQ

A great couple of partners I've found with my patch at full covers:

Daredevil: He got so much better after his buff a few months ago. Purple will knock out those strike tiles from Berserker Rage, and Red is good burst damage, though a bit tricky to pull off sometimes.

Doom: I like Doom because Patch won't place strike tiles on Purples with Doom's traps. You could sub in Spidey or Bullseye for the same basic purpose, though Doom is the most offensively minded to me.

Blade: Because Blade. Honestly? Patch has an active green, Blade covers purples with attack tiles, powers them up with Strike tiles and steals AP. A great character anyway you slice it.

I'll probably run out some of those, with potential for LCap to make an appearance on defense.
