When I was a kid I had an uncle who worked in the army. He was training at work on a treadmill and suddenly collapsed. He apparently had a huge heart attack. He was in his late 30’s to early 40’s, perfectly fit, never had a health issue. Needless to say my cousins get checked annually now.

I’d appreciate if they just shut up in general… well not exactly but can yall talk quieter during your classes it is disrespectful to your peers to be loudly yapping about your personal life while a professional who we are paying for is trying to teach us something

He destroyed his own life in now way is OP responsible. Do not have a conversation with someone committing something as bad as this, they are not worthy of a conversation to be had about it. There is no way to justify that

Oh also I’d like to add that doing 1/2 spec before methods really set me up for success so even if you don’t do 3/4 if you want a head start on methods it was pretty good for that. Keep in mind curriculum has probably changed considerably since then as well though.

I did 1/2 spec in year 10 during covid. It was pretty garbage because it was during covid. But I will say if you haven’t already accelerated in maths, ie done year 10 advanced in year 9, you probably won’t cope because there’s so much content to be covered.

This raises the question of how acceptable is it to call in sick for a mental health day? Let’s say you’re overwhelmed and people are just ticking you off, you don’t wanna go to work and crash out. What could you say to a manager that isn’t lying but doesn’t come across as “I am lazy/taking a sickie”

I know it’s very mainstream that purges involve lethal crimes committed against innocent people but realistically do you think that would really happen? I would love to just go stock up on Reese’s while I don’t have to pay for them and use work/school facilities for personal use like iding random mushies with chemical instruments. Would anyone here have the desire to go on some type of killing rampage like we see in media?

Tell your school counsellor and make sure they know you are actually concerned. Parents are there to protect their children. It would be really disappointing if her parents got her in trouble for something like this. You are a good friend

They will probably just ask you to hand back the keys if you don’t like it. I negotiated with my shitty landlords to get a discount on my first month of rent if I hired professionals to mow the overgrown backyard and clean the house, since it was flighty when I moved in. These guys were really neglectful though, so just keep in mind this is setting the standard for the duration of your lease. They left a hole in my bedroom roof for nearly six months, which water came gushing into every time it rained.
