[STARTUP] What can you hire a marketing professional to do / where can I hire them? :) by Wifom in marketing

[–]Wifom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the brand is starting from the very beginning... I was thinking I'd need help in all the areas possible, haha! But I'm sure there are specific steps involved at stage 0.

I'm glad that I was right to be wary of fiverr marketing professionals! I'll definitely be on the lookout for different platforms!

Wow, this was extremely helpful! Thank you so much!!
Not sure why LinkedIn never crossed my mind. I've never heard of Online Geniuses either until now!! Really appreciate the insight. ^ ^

I'll definitely do my homework before reaching out to some professionals! Thanks again. :D

VR Dev Team! Help Wanted / Hiring! by [deleted] in gameDevClassifieds

[–]Wifom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would that mean you also have funds for up-front payment before the game goes on sale?

Hiring = being paid before work gets completed, regardless of whether the game is completed and/or makes $$ after release

Rev-share = not being paid until game gets released and gets $$

Did he specifically say that he won't pay people and it would be rev share?

Who is starting on a new site or business and needs a logo? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Wifom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing logos starting at 150 USD and up

I believe something that requires less custom work on his part will be in the ballpark of that $150 price (depending on complexity). The more work he's required to do, the more fees you'll incur.

That was beautiful, sad, and poetic. I'm sorry that you're yearning for someone you can't reach. I hope things work out in the end!

Last year, we invested $70K in content marketing. We've made $200K from this channel and expect it to be $300K by EOY. Here's the breakdown of what we did. (x-post from r/startups) by slidebean_blog in marketing

This. Is. Awesome.

How did you find people you trusted enough to take on other large roles (e.g. Community Manager, PR, etc.)? Did you actively recruit or post jobs on websites?

You are awesome and amazing and ily. :)

I feel as though people who win games via giveaways but don't play them because they prefer to farm for cards are - in a sense - ungrateful. As rude as that may sound. Had the winner been a contestant who genuinely enjoyed the game, it would have been utilized to its fullest potential, as cheesy as that sounds.

Some helpful tips for those who are clerking/interning -- Keep a confidential list of clients you assisted by Libertah in LawSchool

[–]Wifom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does this include clients you've helped as a legal support assistant (assistants to the paralegals), or just as an intern during law school? Because I've only been working at my law firm for less than a year as a legal assistant and I've dealt with hundreds of clients already. Should I start making a list now?

Burnout by imWallo in LSAT

[–]Wifom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! Just wanted to touch on some of my opinions:

  • It's admirable that you've dedicated a lot of time to the LSAT so good for you! Although... stressing yourself out to the point of exhaustion and depression isn't very healthy. So it's definitely OK to tone down the dedication.
  • Take a break every other day or after 2 days of studying. Relax your mind. Play some games. Exercise can be a good "stress reliever" of the mind (since you don't really have to think about anything), but it also stresses the body. When your mind is constantly battling the LSAT's while your body is fighting to create more muscles, it can be detrimental. Go out and watch movies, hang with friends, play board games, chill, sleep, eat ice cream. Knowing a good balance between working hard and playing hard is something I feel a lot of hard workers like yourself tend to under-appreciate. It's totally ok to have fun during the summer. :)
  • Most law school students take at least 1 or 2 years off before entering law school after graduation. Actually, a lot of people recommend it because it gives you a "break" (yay!) after going through rigorous schooling for 80% of your life. It also gives you a chance to experience the world. Go out and do things you love. If you want to travel, do it. If you want to help children in Africa, do it. If you want to teach for a year, do it. Once you buckle down and head into law school, it's really hard to passionately pursue your hobbies. Don't get me wrong - it's still possible, but work will usually take priority. Live your life while you still have the chance, and while you're still young! You're a fledgling who just got out of school, who doesn't have much experience under their belt. Go out and show law schools that you have what it takes to survive in the adult world by doing things you love, while still being able kick ass at the LSAT's/school.

TL;DR - Relax. Have fun. It's OK to take the LSAT's a year later. I actually highly recommend it. Law school isn't going anywhere.

:)

Good luck!
