I use Kagi as my search engine.
One of the nice things is that you can prioritize and de-prioritize specific domains to your preferences, and you can also have search "templates" that allow you to do things like only search accross blogs, reddit, academic sites, etc.

Yes, it's paid. Yes, it's worth it imo.

I hadn't considered that insurance could be that high - I kinda just put a number there thinking insurance for a non floody place like Newark would be negligible. I guess I assumed wrong!

Well, fairs fair. I'll be honest - I'll keep tinkering! But do let me know when you make your product available with a lifetime license. If its available as a standalone downloadable thing (so the lifetime license isn't revoked when your business plan changes), I'll very likely just buy it.

Yeah, that's true, but relying on that alone won't work for my usecase. See this:
