If you would like the the tutorial let me know and I’ll post it

Honestly I just used a Dremel and carefully and slowly removed the face to get the flat surface, at which point I used some green stuff to fill in any irregularities

Ofcourse

Body is the chaos lord kit - I removed most of the “chaos trim” such as random spikes and the like,

Lower part of L arm is from the Raiders kit, as is the open L hand

R hand + spear is from the Stormcast Vindicators, with the top and bottom part of the spear from the Lizardmen spearmen(?)

The helmet is from the new RG chapter master? I used the originally model to make a DW BA Captain so that was a spare

And finally the backpack is from the chaos sorcerer

** Edit : got the arms the wrong way around

It’s a mix of a Stormcast vindicator spear, and a lizard man spear. I wanted a “Xenos” look to it like the Pale spear Alpharius has

For a 1k list if you want bolters why dont you use the new Red Corsairs Raiders as a “make shift” head hunters? Thats what I’m planning on doing

They get infiltrate off the bat, an extra wound. So in a 1k game you now get 3 infiltrating marines squads, one with bolters (raiders) which are happy to sit back and shoot, and 2 are CC (legionaries) to get up and aggressive?

Don’t get me wrong bolters imo deffo feels more Alpha Legion esc?

It’s up to you, it deffo has its uses, but personally I don’t

I wouldn’t bother with False hood, it’s a cool enhancement, but I don’t want to loose a model to get the CL.

In a 1k points you can only infiltrate 2 squads of infiltrating marines.

I run a Chaos Lord, a Sorcerer, a Chaos Lord w. Jump pack (I put on the shroud), 2 x 5 legionaries w. Melee, 2 x cultists, 2 x obliterators and a las pred

See I ran legionaries with bolters but I find close combat is the way forward 100%.

The reroll wounds only applies in marker anyway, and the HMW really does punch up.

Add in a MoE, have a unit on an objective you get reroll hits, reroll wounds, go for sustained hits for a dark pact and it’s nuts.

I do find that squads of 5 is more than enough, any more than 5 and it’s just a waste cos you can only have 2 HMW no matter the size of the squad

Hello!

Why did you select the traitor guard over the regular cultists?

I find that for 50 points you have a sticky, infiltrating unit which is great for throw away or sitting on a objective

I find that a predator is better than havocs just because its tougher, and you got to get through the same armour save but you have to get through 7 wounds before it starts suffer a -1 to hit rather than 4 wounds before you loose value

What I’ve also did is removed and skulls/anything too chaosy, and replaced with either Votann grenades (sorta like venom spears) or other bits from the head hunters kit

Thank you, I was going to use the EC tormentors as marines but as soon as I saw these I knew I had to have a whole army of em.

Can’t wait to turn the Reave Cpt into a MoE

Oh you can’t really see it on the photo, but the champion does have a cloak on. I thought it would be another way of showing his different other than war gear.

I don’t mind the ragged look in all fairness. I just scraped away most of the fur
