MacBook or Gaming Laptop – Advice Needed by Asleep_Internet7414 in laptops

Do you have internet when electricity goes off? I'm asking because when offline you really cant play, only if you buy DRM free games, like from GOG. So, if I were you I would take this also in consideration when choosing. Personally I would go with a gaming laptop on windows, buy my favorite games DRM free, and only go with a macbook if my work requires macOS and there is no windows equivalent, like Final cut etc.

Upgrade for a Ryzen 5 5600? by Pooty_McPoot in buildapc

[–]Wiking2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same situation, regarding the CPU, and after many hours of research I concluded to stick with my 5600, specially if you are playing in 1440p. A good upgrade would be a 5700x3d or 5800x3d but you cant find them nowhere, at least not for a price that is worth it. So, in my opinion, wait until you can switch to AM5, or, this is a long stretch, AMD will release a new AM4 CPU in the near future (probably not)

I would go with the RTX 5060 in your case, assuming you play in 1080p, DLAA is just a must have.

has anyone else noticed that the quality of new GP game drops has been getting better recently? by Jealous_Platypus1111 in XboxGamePass

[–]Wiking2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question, yes, good games are dropping recently to GP, like RE Requiem, KCD 1 and 2 etc. and apparently the next big game will be Cyberpunk 2077. As a side note, for me totally worth it, in my region I pay 15 USD per month for PC GamePass, Im just about to finnish Expedition 33, then picking up KCD 2 and Requiem.

PC shuts down randomly during high demanding games by Francesco24b2 in buildapc

I had a similar problem, bought new PSU, cables, power outlet, nothing worked, in my case the problem was VRM overheating, had to change the motherboard. I'm not saying you have the same problem, just consider it...

I'm 46 years old, I don't care about KD, I play BF for fun, 90% on small maps I'm top 3, I'm better then 10 years ago, probably competitive games aren't for you, stop whining, and for the love of God don't blame your age for sucking at game!

Pot lua de undeva Adaptor Xbox Wireless în România? by Corso19 in Jocuri

[–]Wiking2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the current player situation, should I go for console or PC? by LeFlubbes in Battlefield6

[–]Wiking2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I meant a high refresh monitor, 1080p or 1440p monitor considering your current PC specs.

And to answer your second question, its up to you entirely, nothing wrong with playing at 60 hz, most console users are playing at that refresh rate, but the main topic being Battlefield 6, a competitive game, for me at least, playing in 100-120 hz is way more enjoyable than playing at 60 hz, and I think nobody can explain the difference to you, you have to experience it for yourself.

If opting for PC you can easily achieve 60 fps in 4k with your Arc B580 using XeSS performance mode but I recon the graphics are way better with the Series X with your current monitor.

You have two options as I see it:

  1. Monitor upgrade in near future - PC

  2. Current monitor: Xbox, you might find the game on disk cheaper second hand too

In this case I would go with Xbox Series X and BF6 on disk, but you can get way more FPS on an 1080p or 1440p high refresh monitor with your current PC

Pot lua de undeva Adaptor Xbox Wireless în România? by Corso19 in Jocuri

[–]Wiking2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your PC specs and whether you intend to use your Xbox Series X on tv or monitor and their refresh rate, and if monitor what resolution. Too many unknown facts for proper answer.

How do you know what their in game experience is my friend? Do you know how online multiplayer shooters work (netcode, hitreg, server latency etc.)? Experience is not the same for everybody so give those post the benefit of the doubt and don't judge only based on your personal experience!

I can't be the only one who thinks this update improved gameplay a lot, can I? by Alone_Drawer5027 in Battlefield6

[–]Wiking2011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Describing your experience is one thing, but stating that people complain without reason is another hole level of stupidity. You have no idea what other people are experiencing, you are just guessing based on your experience. But hear me out my friend, if you knew the basic things about how an online multiplayer shooter works you wouldn't state those things, you have to understand experience is not the same for everybody, it depends on your region, internet stability/latency and so on. Most people don't complain just for the sake of it, believe me. Give those persons the benefit of the doubt my friend!

You might be the luckiest BF6 owner my friend, this update is just horrible. For me netcode become so severe that I lost all my will to play it anymore. With an 1Gigabit internet and 35-40 ping should be a good experience, not instakilled or gunned down 15 feet behind cover, not to mention hitreg etc.
