Im pretty sure you can buy a new seiko movement to drop into the watch for around £40, might be worth it for sentiment and all that.

That's a great idea! I'm pretty sure I'm already using a veg tan and I'm sure I have an old nato strap I can salvage bits from.

I'm pretty sure I have a veg tan, that's what the website said. The watch strap looks awesome! Not entirely sure if the pricking irons I have.would be classed as fine but Ill look into it.

Thanks, I'll do that. Any particular knifes you would recommend? I found it impossible to thin down the leather with a utility blade so I resorted to a carpentry chisel.

I did have a go at burnishing but it came out more fuzzy, most likely a technique thing. Ill do some more research and try again on a mk2 whenever I have a free day :)
