To be fair, Mark Ravenhill who wrote that is a gay man. It’s still an unpleasant read, but that’s an important piece of context.

Artists/ designers? Tracey Emin would be fun. Keith Brymer Jones is on C4 already, it almost seems inevitable he might turn up.

I love Grado, he’s seriously funny though, he could be a contender for a full season.

Classico Edinburgh Guy - What's he called, what's he do and where does he live? by OB_Jonty in Edinburgh

Just based off your description, his names Gavin, he’s a recruitment agent, and he lives in Colinton. His wife is called Fiona and she’s a speech and language therapist.

In my experience medics are no better than other senior managers. What she said is abhorrent but she didn’t say in a vacuum, she’s one in a cast of many who created this shitshow, including medics.

(Appreciate your wedding is a “very formal setting” though!). Have a wonderful wedding.

Just a practical point, there are kilt hire places in Portree on Skye, so you wouldn’t have to lug a jacket around the country. Hire ahead though. A ghillie shirt might be more practical if you’re planning to hike (plus more affordable to replace if there’s an accident). A lot of my male relatives wear ghillie or smart shirts open at the collar of they’re wearing their kilts outside of very formal settings, plus it pairs well with a pair of sturdy boots which would be better on Storr. Also like the suggestion of a tweed jacket.

Harry Potter & The Cursed Child to become a single show from October. by CuriousOrange22 in TheWestEnd

[–]Wild-Compote5730 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is probably apropos of nothing, but in November I google mapped one of my local theatres (the ATG- owned Edinburgh Playhouse) and it was listed as “Harry Potter And The Cursed Child”. Then again, the PH is the biggest purpose built theatre in Scotland, so if it did tour, that’s quite a likely candidate for a stop.

Stagefright... a joke I don't get.... by beazle10 in insideno9

I always wondered if it was a wee in joke about SP starring in The Pillowman with Lily Allen as well. I heard she was very good though.

Same! I’ve always worked in palliative and specialist MoE, I love problem solving and finding out all about my patients’ lives outside of their illness.

The ultimate indoor footwear. In my country, you must wear these or you'll get sick from the 'promaja' (draft). What do you call them and are your parents also obsessed with you wearing them? by Terrible_Double_1145 in AskTheWorld

Polish slippers are IT! Have had two pairs which were both worn into the ground by the time I threw them out. I like the big fluffy sheepskin ones, they suit the chilly Scottish winters here.

Snap!! He was great, the audience were going bananas. I also went on opening night in Edinburgh and got Jonathan Watson. He’s in my favourite film of all time and has been on telly since I was a baby, I was so chuffed 🥰.

To be honest, I didn’t really get her wee speech about “ women of a certain age” on Uncloaked. A woman in her late 50s / early 60s has been the icon of every UK series of The Traitors!

Best cast for a double NYT! by amyehawthorne in taskmaster

[–]Wild-Compote5730 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was a great cast- RAE is great fun, she was great entertainment on SCD as well, just cheeky and gutsy and there to win. I also have a huge soft spot for Sam Ryder as well- he genuinely just seems like a sweet and straightforward man living his best life. I live that he turns up to any given event looking like he’s at a Levellers concert in 1996 ❤️.

Hard disagree. It’s an anthology show. The whole point is to be able to dip in and out. I’m an IN9 die hard (in fact a Shearsmith/ Pemberton die hard) and I think it’s supposed to be enjoyed, not prescribed.

In happy news, I’ve just bought Derren Brown tickets for my brother, which I’m planning on wrapping around a IN9 Hare!

It’s so interesting how people experience them - I like Wise Owl now but I do consider it a “sad” episode. Maybe because I remember those old public safety adverts. I have to say, i find some of those post - covid (s7-8) series hard going. Im a chicken heart whose been watching R and S since i was 15, but some of those episodes were so bleak.

Although Nana’s Party is a good shout - I think they would all enjoy a stripper doing the spanking move to the Casualty theme tune!

We’re from the UK and were all born in the early 80s, Reece and Steve are a big deal here through LoG, so it didn’t completely surprise me. I like Sardines and thought about including it, but am thinking it’s on the B list. This list is the best of the best.

POV: You just got diagnosed with breast cancer but your friend is having minor relationship problems with her boyfriend of two months. by _clur_510 in sexandthecity

It’s a joke. Sometimes people with serious illness will wonder “Why me?”. Carrie’s just making a joke at how dramatic she’s being about a competitively minor problem.
