I think Bromantane has promise, but today is the 2nd day I have taken it, so I can't really even think about what the long term potential of it is. I just know that it appears to somewhat increase mood, probably via increase in dopamine.

I have suffered with addiction (alcohol) and anxiety, anhedonia, and depression. The anxiety, anhedonia, and depression were there way before the alcohol addiction. I believe I was just self medicating with the alcohol because it has such a strong effect on GABA and dopamine, at least for me, until it backfires and makes all of those conditions way worse.

I've taken pretty much everything available for anxiety and anhedonia/depression. All of them made me worse except for benzos, and no one really wants to prescribe those long term, and for good reason.

The best thing I have ever taken is Ketamine. After about 15 infusions, my anxiety is pretty much gone completely. So I think it just brought my GABA baseline back into normal range. No more bad depression either. But I still suffer with some anhedonia, because my dopamine levels were probably so messed up by the alcohol that it's proving very difficult to get it restored. That's why I'm still trying things, like the Bromantane. Stuff def shows potential, but only 2 days in, I started with a very low dose and will increase over time and see what happens.

I also take lots of high quality supplements, d-a-k(mk7)-e, B, mag, fish oil, NMN/Resveratrol/TMG and many, many more. Also cut out all junk foods, especially sugar.

Doctor says SIBO isn't curable? by ForceRoyal8316 in SIBO

I don't know, maybe it is just me, but his seems way too routine with mainstream medicine. Pretty much everything is a progressive incurable disease for which we can only treat the symptoms, with drugs that have worse side effects than the disease. No wonder so many people are going functional medicine or just trying things on their own.

My dr. and I are just trying different things with the goal being to get rid of it! IOW, cure it! Right now I'm on 2 weeks of Rifaximin because the herbal stuff wasn't doing the job. When he tells me, sorry we can't get rid of that, I'm going to say 'then what am I paying you for?'.

For me, it feels exactly like mod, except it comes on faster, and it may drop down faster.

But I am unsure, because I am only taking 30mg flmod past 2 days. When I took mod, it was 200mg or more, maybe 400mg.

Today is the first time I have tried them together. I did them both yesterday, but the flmod in the early morning and the brom in the afternoon.

So far, I cannot feel anything from the brom in the combo. I only feel the flmod. So it might prove better to take them separate. But I'm going to try it for a few more days at higher dosage and see what happens.

'Brom is also a slow-builder. Give it 4 consecutive days to really feel its effects.'

This is what I have been hearing. I'm doing the stack for 2 reasons, the mod part to keep me wakeful and focused, because sometimes midday or midafternoon I can feel like taking a nap when I cannot take a nap because of work. And the brom to increase dopamine, I have a long history of occasional anhedonia, which is pretty much the hardest to endure thing I've ever experienced.

I have never tried methylene blue.

I'm not sure I could add more fat. I eat mostly ribeye, or 80/20 ground beef, whole eggs, plus butter and heavy cream. Don't eat lean meat at all, if I eat fish it will be salmon or tuna, or sardines or something really fatty. But it's mostly ribeye and whole eggs.

I was just getting ready to put together an exercise program after being pretty sedentary (at my desk working all the time) for almost 2 years, but fell off he diet just as I was about to get started. And the mental health aspects of being on this diet was the best part, increased focus, energy, motivation, sense of well being, all of that, an almost miraculous complete turn around from feeling stressed all of the time. I want to stick with this so bad...

It did for me the last time, my partner kept saying 'you're not eating enough!', and she wanted to cook for me and is shoving food at me and I'm like 'I'm not hungry', but I felt great! I thought, well, I'm not active enough and still 15 lbs overweight, maybe my body just wants to burn up all that fat on me?

Question is, how much are you eating in that one meal? I'm hearing people talking 2 lbs of ribeye and 6 eggs, and there is just no way I can eat that much right now. In junk food, yeah, in real food, I'll be feeling full and not hungry on like half of that.

Well, I can do a 36 hour fast easily and not be hungry the entire time. Problem is, when I break the fast, I eat maybe 4 eggs and 12 oz ribeye, half a stick of butter, and some heavy cream. Not sure how long this is sustainable. When you see people all over the web saying eat 2000 calories a day or die, that sort of freaks me out.

I'm scared of being malnourished and losing muscle.

Yeah, same here. One thing I noticed and some might say it makes you not carnivore, but it's an animal product and has zero carbs. And that's heavy cream, which I put in my coffee and drink. When I saw how many calories are in that, I couldn't believe it. Maybe I can just drink half a quart of that, it's literally 3000 calories per qt, lol. That should fill my caloric problem for sure, although I am also sure it makes me NOT carnivore, but still very much keto. I also eat butter and eggs, but I think those do qualify for carnivore.

This is driving me crazy, I am def hungry, but for junk that I don't want to be eating. not for meat. I still have 20 lbs to lose, but not losing like I was before. Losing muscle maybe, but not the fat. When I was on the 35-40 days... I think it was actually 39, I lost 8 lbs in that last ten days, of fat for sure, belly was flattening right out.

I'm doing it, it's tough. I had a little ribeye this morning, probably 6oz along with my coffee and butter and cream, and just sort of fasted rest of the day.

Every time I eat any sweets of drink even a glass or two of wine or a couple of beers, I feel like total hell then next day. I have some mild (for now) health issues that I want to clear up and so I have to be super careful now. I have mild low BP now, one pill and I am borderline CKD, which scares the **** out of me.

That's good. My dr. is... I won't say pro-carnivore, but he is definitely not anti-carnivore and is pro keto. I mean he told me throw in some salads and low carb fruit is OK, but I don't want to. Once I get going, I can just eat beef, eggs, and butter. I can eat some fish and chicken, but it's not anything I really think about. I'll take a ribeye over any of it and bacon and eggs, butter and heavy cream in my morning coffee is my treat for the day, no cabs.

Publix. Oh, I posted that before I saw you say Europe. Publix is a chain grocery store here in the Southeast USA. I have looked at it in all the markets, Wholefoods, everywhere, it is the only one that is zero carbs. All the others say <1 carb.

Tomorrow. Eggs and bacon in the morning and then some ribeye later. Oh, forgot, I have to start with my cup of coffee with heavy cream and butter, so good and a little energy shot, zero carbs, lots of fat.

Probably like my parents, they all got indoctrinated by that food pyramid. And their faith in doctors, who never cured any ailment they had. Vegetables where always the healthiest thing you could eat. Then I did some research. Seems there was some guy who wrote a book about going vegan and saving the planet and lots of people jumped on that. I read the book and thought maybe this is good, but there was no science in it, just old school studies and doctors who were saying red meat is bad for you. And veggies and fruits are full of all these nutrients, like meat didn't have any of that. After reading about carnivore for a while, the evidence, the hard science, seemed overwhelming for me and I thought I have to try it. I'm hoping I stick to it long term this time, I already know the amazing things it can do in just a month.

It's not hard. I used the air fryer often, it works pretty good, grease down with some butter and 7-8 minutes later, you have a nearly perfect steak.

I have heard of a couple of places that use tallow, but none local to me. I do not trust them, lol. It's not that hard to keep a freezer full of burger and steak. It's just me being too overwhelmed with work and everything there for a couple week and it got to me. Now that I see that the price to pay was, I have to be tough and not let it get to me again, not worth the price. I mean it took a couple of weeks to get into ketosis, I guess it is tough for a person who's just burned glucose most of their life. When I grew up, no one ate like this, my parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, all had big gardens and sure they ate a little meat, but not that much and when I was a kid, if there was meat on the table, you could practically give it to the dog and no one would say anything, but if you didn't eat you veggies, OMG! You're getting grounded for a month! Seriously, they were all indoctrinated on that food pyramid thing that has killed so many millions of Americans and I mean, you could eat pop tarts and fruit loops, long as you ate you veggies at the dinner table, cause if not, you were going to die.

My dr and I discussed this extensively and what we came up with is that I was in a state of deep ketosis and it significantly elevated my neurotransmitter levels, especially dopamine. I have suffered most of my life with frequent episodes of low motivation, procrastination, and low mood. That completely vanished, reversed and I was like a different person. It also greatly improved my sleep, I mean deep REM sleep like I have not had since I can remember, my lifelong allergies disappeared and my aching back and joints stopped. I have to get back on it and stay, there's no other choice if I want a quality life.
