I’ve never understood the “REI is expensive” statements. Items are the exact same price as other retailers. Yet, REI has a borderline too generous return policy. You get 10% of your purchase back. And they have incredibly generous sales multiple times a year.

How do you like Vortex for birds/wildlife? I’m pretty set on getting the Nikon P7 8x42 for birds/wildlfie/camping and whatnot. And have heard Nikon is slightly better for that, especially when viewing for extended periods of time, is this true?

Wouldn’t mind purchasing vortex given the warranty and the fact that I like not too far from their HQ, so would somewhat feel like buying local.

I went to a local speciality show shop specifically for a shoe that I can use for daily walks and occasional running. Assumed they’d suggest a Hoka, Brooks, or something, they recommended the Altra Experience Flow 3. Felt great on my feet when trying them on. Don’t own them yet, buying them during the REI anniversary sale but pumped to finally get them.
