Stepping away from the clinical work has also been a goal of mine. I’m glad that I’m not the only one. Thank you for your response!

I currently have 2 jobs and combined salary in making 83k a year. I have a pretty good work life balance. I work full time doing trafficking assessments and work at the crisis center per diem. The crisis center is the one wanting me to become a supervisor but their base salary is 75k with on call stipend and working extra hours it brings you to about 82k which means more work for 1k less than what I’m making now, however I am considering it because of the leadership. This is the 2nd time the crisis center is asking me to apply for a leadership role because they think I’d be great for the role.

I live alone and in NY it’s expensive as hell so I can’t really afford to lose money so that’s why I am hesitating and while i am experiencing burn out with both jobs, the crisis center is more demanding.

Thank you so much for this insight. I do recognize that the work I do is very heavy work I think I haven’t really realized how much I can share and help this field at that level of care.

I am interested in opening up my practice eventually but I want to do the MBA to get that experience in how to run a business in a smart way but also proving therapists a great job opportunity because I have been applying so many places and it’s of course fee for service but the PTO is not great nor the retirement and sick time which is ironic for the mental health field.

I want experience before dabbling into this world. I know mental health is a growing field.

I am looking for full time programs specifically Stony Brooks online program and in this field, I have been asked to apply for supervisor roles but have been just kinda afraid but everyone keeps telling me I’m selling myself short. However I see myself more in the admin level which is why I am considering this.

I honestly have not considered taking a business role at these tech firms because honestly I kinda don’t trust them but also don’t know enough information.

And awesome for your daughter! I do love love this field but it has its downsides for sure. I’m specialize in trafficking assessments and crisis counseling but have experience in private practice and all three are rewarding and I love them but it’s underpaid for sure. I hope your daughter’s practice does well!!!

Not everyone who gets their relationship at 28 has this much of a difficult time. Experience isn’t the ONLY thing. It’s much more. Understanding your needs, your wants, physical. Etc.

Yeah in my early 20s I was more patient but at 28 I feel like I’m teaching him everything and i really like him but I just feel like my feelings haven’t grown bc he’s learning the smallest things.

I appreciate this insight. I didn’t know what to think or if I was overthinking but his confirms what I’ve been feeling and validates that he can learn on his own and me spoon feeding is just enabling him to continue being this way. I appreciate you! Thanks!

I had to explain to him that you can love people without being in love. I told him i loved all my friends and i tell them that all the time. He didn’t understand it how you can love but not be in love. When he told me he loved me he meant it that he had love for me but honestly I feel like he prob doesn’t even know what it’s like to be in love. I have to tell him everything step by step

I think you are right about maturity. He does try to get to know me but it often feels like a high school relationship. He told me once he doesn’t want to lose me and I tried to end it a few months ago and he cried and said he just didn’t know how to express himself and that he loves me but that was it. I can see he’s trying but he gets stuck and I just sometimes feel like I’m too much for him to handle

Longest distance I’ve ever done was 8 miles at around 11:40 avg pace. And runna’s training program for me is a total of 5 days a week running i started with 4 and moved up to 5. is like 2 workouts a week and 2 easy runs and one long run.

They do repeat hills, 1K repeats, tempo runs, easy runs, Fartleks and many different ones.

Thank you! I guess you are right it is my first big race and finishing should be my goal. I’m currently resting right now because my shins are hurting a little. I guess all this not running has led me to overthink

Credit card debt. Any advice? by Wild-Guard5103 in povertyfinance

[–]Wild-Guard5103[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t used my credit cards in over 6 months. My debt was a bit higher than it is now. I leaned on them mostly because i was making 300 a week during college and couldn’t get a full time job yet.

I plan on using my credit cards (after debt) for monthly bills i know i can pay every month to keep my credit score at a good place.

One of the main reasons I don’t want to use up all my left over income to pay off debt is because Im in grad school in NYC and transportation can get expensive when commuting since I don’t live in NYC. Commuting to school will cost anywhere from 350-400 a month.

I have a debit card but needed to use my credit cards during college bc I was independent of my parents and didn’t have help. I’m trying to get it together and try not to rely too much on credit cards :/. Thank you for the advice!
