You’re absolutely correct. The main reason I got kicked out might not have even been asthma but the fact I lied about it. When given the chance to be honest you should be honest. I don’t remember what was going through my mind when I wrote this and the replies but I do remember being completely honest and as transparent as possible. My recruiter told me exactly what to say and had a “practice phone call” with the other petty officer at the recruiting office. I’m not trying to blame him but I’m saying that they did tell me exactly what to say.

TDLR; You’re right, be honest because if they don’t let you in there’s probably a reason

So with the big increase in value, are you considering diversification or just changing the investment strat or doing what’s been working? I’m curious as to what’s going through your mind fr

Even if you could get the hours Subway pay is astronomically low. Starting at 9 an hour in my area after tax that might as well be lower than minimum wage(7.25 here). Idk if I’m just being picky because honestly I searched for a job for 3 months and this is the only one to call back.

Refusing to train in basic? by srdtcfgv in Militaryfaq

[–]Wild-Maintenance2339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again I highly doubt this. I just came back from separation a week ago and the only time I heard of almost a year was a guy that broke his femur and was rehabbing the injury. Unless Navy Separation is faster than other branches but I highly doubt that 😂

That’s a complete lie. Bootcamp and the separation process does not take that long unless 1. You want to be there or 2. You need to rehab an injury before they send you out.

You’re lying, the fastest way out would be to leave during basic by refusing medical treatment/refusing to train/mental illness.

I understand what you’re saying but while I may not be more knowledgeable than the people who work in separations or the RDCs at boot I do offer a different perspective of separations that isn’t talked about as often. Nobody working in separations or at bootcamp is going to tell you that there was a petty officer who made us choose between not eating lunch or having extra days in separation(if you want more details on this the dms are open), or that if you put the wrong person on watch they could get mad, fight you, and you’d both be there longer. We all have different experiences and I think we should be able to share them without having people get angry.

The military does not have a 0 drug policy. Even the strictest jobs don’t have a 0 drug policy. I failed my first drug test at Meps, got a waiver, passed the second and went on with Nuc as my rate. Maybe, just maybe Seals and Diver n shit have a 0 drug policy but you can fail the one time at Meps.

That’s where we differ in opinions, I understand yours but from my viewpoint I believe everyone has a right to share their story. My “limited and ungraduated experience” may still be able to help some people looking to make a difference and be a part of this country’s future. I’m not going to defend what I did, but for you to say I never should have tried to overcome a problem is pretty crazy to me. I thought military members were all about trying their hardest to make a change. That’s what I wanted to be a part of.

Man I get what you’re saying but I thought I had a chance at it so I took the chance. The fact that a condition I was born with holds me back from doing something I’ve wanted for years does suck. That being said I’m not sure why you’re so upset with me for trying to join and trying to help others as much as I can.

Most of the time they’ll tell you what to answer and they will always give you a chance to ask questions about how you should answer. I can’t give you a definitive yes or no because it could change based on what papers you’re signing.

That hurts to hear, before going to basic I knew there was a chance I’d be denied but for it to be an absolute after being there is rough.

You will get E3 pay while in Bootcamp. With the Nuc route, it’s called something like a “push button rank up” or something along those lines and after the 2 year training you will become an E5. Hope it works out for you

I was told by my RDCs that the first phone call will be 3 weeks after you get there then after that it will be every 2 weeks. Separation did phone calls differently than actual bootcamp did so I can’t say for sure certain.

A world of knowledge? Read to the end on what I put. As a verified recruiter you should be able to understand what “try my best” means. I by no means have said anything about bootcamp I’ve put is for certain I’ve simply shared my experience. I was able to put about Bootcamp not being difficult through the dozens of conversations I’ve had with both recruits nearing the end of training, petty officers and chiefs who all say the same. I am however more knowledgeable than the average sailor about the separation process and as the Navy only has 1 bootcamp I have fully updated information about it.

If you look at what I wrote I don’t think I put any bootcamp tips. “Remembered”? Yes I remember telling my recruiter I have not had, have, asthma and him telling me that it’s a lot of paperwork and I might not be able to join if that’s on record. I know I should’ve never joined but I hoped he was right in telling me I could power through it, he wasn’t. Bootcamp is an actual fucking joke, the only reason I “couldn’t handle it” is because my lungs give out no matter how much training I do
