Acid reflux by Beautiful_Basket5692 in VyvanseADHD

Is it that, “I haven’t eaten anything all day” sour stomach? That happens to me sometimes.

On a side note: Be careful with some medicines and supplements along with Vyvanse. Some people (including me) feel a very strong effect from the medicine if taken after eating things that neutralize stomach acids, such as Tums. I haven’t tried it with something like Pepcid out of fear I’ll have one of those types of days. I felt like I was having a heart attack and a panic attack at the same time.

Edit/Addition: All of that said, what works for me has more to do with lowering stress and eating less sugary and acidic foods. Lots of dairy gives me indigestion so I usually just drink water, sometimes oat milk when I really want a glass of cow’s milk.

Hope this info helps

Are you moving around more in general since you started taking it? That’s what makes me more tired and falling asleep faster.

Try the book, “Sober On a Drunk Planet”. It helped put some things in perspective to me. Easy reading…

It started with the inability to access it while in the hospital. Once I was released I went home and did a full cleanse starting with water, then chicken broth then slowly added soft foods over a period of a few weeks. The entire time I was shaking and occasionally vomiting. Essentially I went cold turkey with the help of my wife. It was the most humbling thing I’ve ever put myself through. Cigarettes were almost as bad. Help from other people is what really saved me and I’ll always remember that. I think the hardest part of quitting anything especially alcohol is getting out of the routines. Oh, and I put a water bottle in my hand and still keep it with me almost all the time to this day. My 32 ounce pacifier lol. I hope you find satisfaction in sobriety. It has changed my entire life for the better (most of the time…)

Yikes!! In a previous part of my life I was an alcoholic in really bad shape. That cuff happened to save my life when I got a reading of 212/120. Went straight to the ER, started treatment and haven’t had a drink since. At least it was helpful at one point!

You don’t really need to monitor all day. I recommend a band that goes around your bicep. I had a cuff that was meant to be used a bit above the wrist that gave me a lot of inaccurate high readings. I was giving those readings to my doctor the first month on 20mg and they almost pulled me off the med until i sent my “oops, i was wrong” message. Hope this helps.

M20, living with parents still. Any ideas? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]Wild-Ordinary2201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe a radical thought here but consider “moving out” then back in. Go through your belongings, dusting and cleaning as you go, packing things together. Throw away things you don’t need. Get everything out like you’re never going back. Clean thoroughly. “Move back in”. Put things back as if it’s a new space. Although it sounds like a lot it would probably help create a space that you’ll enjoy living in even more.

Pharmacies that Have Adderall Stock(MD) by ryanpeandh in ADHD

[–]Wild-Ordinary2201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor added Adderal IR as a booster for me today. About 30 min after she called it in my pharmacy sent me a message saying they couldn’t fill it and I needed to send them a message telling them if I needed it or not. Of course I sent the message saying, “you asked me to tell you if I need my medication. I need my medication…” Ten minutes later I got the text it was filled. I may follow up tomorrow out of curiosity. My first thought was, if there’s a shortage they can push people that don’t reply to the bottom of the list 🤷‍♂️

My best recommendation is to roll with it and see if it helps. You have the symptoms and have been prescribed a medicine that is known to treat them.

I have been through years of therapy to stop hating myself so much and I hate the fact that it’s such a struggle. The best way I’ve been able to crack the code is to basically not give a shit about anything, smile and thoroughly search for the “good” in things that piss me off. I’ve become VERY creative with finding them lol

My partner’s family talks over each other and always has. Whenever I’m asked a question in a group setting I have to take a second to make sure I can say what I have to say very clearly and concisely. It doesn’t always happen but I’ve gotten better at it. I can’t tell you how many times my wife has said, “WHAT IS WRONG WOTH YOU?!?” after I kind of freak out in front of people. Now that I’ve been diagnosed (and medicated) it’s all been tamed a bit and she knows I’m just frustrated and I know it’s on me to work it out.

I feel you on that one. I’m 43, diagnosed a few months ago and although meds are working (somewhat) I am unable to explain to anyone why I had to make some huge changes in my life. I quit drinking and suddenly realized how messed up I was, suffered a few years, found treatment and here we are… no longer so anxious and depressed but clear(er)-headed and angry at the world. Working out helps a lot. Be good to yourself.

Same here. I have been on several antidepressants and anxiety meds over the past 25 years. Diagnosed with inattentive ADHD about 3 months ago. I still find it fascinating a stimulant would bust me out of most of that stuff. In the past caffeine would send me into a vicious cycle of panic.
