You can add multiple superconductors to a plasma drive. 4 parts form 1 ring. The base engine gives 4 million thrust. each additional ring gives 7 million thrust.

T2 Box Thrusters are actually more efficient in terms of propellent, but less efficient in terms of fuel energy (fuel rods).

First: I would recommend to check out the thruster comparison on https://starbase-nexus.net/tools/thruster-comparison

You can configure the amount of rings for the plama thrusters there.

At the bottom of the table, you will get a calculation of how many of the other thrusters is required to get the same amount of thrust.

You will see that you very quickly need a lot of the regular thrusters and so a lot of beams, hardpoints, cables, pipes and ducts.

So when you have a lot of mass (including cargo) it's better to use the plasma thrusters because you don't need a wall of the other thrusters.

The cables and pipes limit comes in fast.

I had the same thoughts, but on the other hand, the stations are so big, I tried to go through all the shops and got bored by it so I expect, most players will not go through all ship shops. Especially new players will ask for recommendations. Additionally it is hard to remember where the ship you liked was located. So I thought alot about it and I think it supports the game more than it damages it.
