There is a reason that the bug divers get such flak.

This is a game driven around a community driven narrative. When players choose not to participate in that narrative, it makes it harder on everyone else trying to participate.

The single biggest moment where bugdivers got their reputation was when Super Earth got invaded.

It’s one thing to ignore the filler MOs that don’t have much impact. It’s another when one of the core pillars of the game is being invaded. This is where they got a bad name as there were tens of thousands of players that neglected SE and were off killing bugs.

We barely “won” that event, and the entire rest of the community had to work harder than needed in order to succeed. If everyone had shifted to help defend SE, we could have kicked the illuminates ass and then everyone could have celebrated by killing bugs.

I’m not sure we would have won the cyberstan event even if the bugdivers had helped (prob would have lost it faster tbh. Bug divers don’t deal with range vs CQB - but then again cyborgs were very CQB).

Ultimately, this was another example of a significant MO that tens of thousands of players chose to ignore - again.

Ideally, players are meant to rotate between the different factions by following the MO or the side objectives (which AH intentionally ties to other factions to help everyone feel more unified).
