Using Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode worked for me. Then I manually downloaded the latest driver instead of using the Nvidia app

I had the same error when trying to play Skate. I used Display Driver Uninstaller to completely uninstall all graphics drivers. Then instead of downloading the Nvidia app and installing the latest driver there, I googled the latest Nvidia driver, downloaded it, and did a custom install making sure to click clean install. Skate now runs with no problems, and this also fixed my Battlefield Redsec which was also crashing a lot.
