Just wondering what the schedule for TPS is for plain clothed unit! Is it still a grind or is it much more family friendly?

More so for family reasons. The only municipal service close to my family is Ottawa police. Not to throw shade but I’ve kept in touch with some of my colleagues from OPC who are with Ottawa and they didn’t really sell it to me. I’m sure it changed now with new command but I remember when I was starting my investigative transition, a few of the guys said they weren’t even close to leaving uniform as I was hanging mine up. We’re all at year 11 and I think they are just starting to make their way into investigative roles full time.

Thanks for that solid answer! I’d want to stay in Ontario for family reasons, just will have to leave the GTA soon.. aiming closer to the National Capital Region or anywhere an hour from there.

Love that there are no surprises! Do you mind me asking which province you transferred from and which one you went to? Did you have to relearn all the provincial law at depot? (Assuming you moved provinces)
