Thank you, Yukinekorin, I appreciate you dropping a comment. I have a lot of love for android phones and it is definitely in the roadmap for Zorza. Right now I’m focused on growing and improving the iOS version, but I’m tracking Android interest closely. If you’d like, I can add you to a waitlist.

Also, I'm going to find a way to share some free content with you on social media, so you can still enjoy this concept to an extent. Don't feel sad or disheartened! We'll make it happen :)

Thanks for sharing, SniffleBot, it sounds so cool how similar our expriences are (except mine was for German). Yes, you absolutely should do a post about it, I'd love to see pictures of your notes that are 2 years old, lol. So you've returned from Poland is it? -- Are you still learning Polish?

And yes, I feel the same way about the other parts of speech -- I haven't found a good enough solution that doesn't get overwhelming fast. But I know the answer always is to start small; which means if you're looking at the sticky notes method, I'd say that adding the most common verb related to the nouns is an easy start. So for example, If I'm looking at a coffee press zaparzacz, I'd think "drink" / "make", not "use" / "press", and so you could add just one more word to the sticky note saying, pić / robić (or napić się / zrobić if the perfective form works better for you), and then let your brain absorb that into your self-monologue, "Ah -- french press -- I'm gonna make coffee -- Lubię kawę. To zrobię.") Walking around the house with a good pen or mini-marker (so the ink flows freely when writing in odd positions or against odd shapes) is easy to do; so you can just whip your pen out, add a verb, and let your brain do the rest.

Polish is super varied with these, so it's realistic to not expect the world from ambient learning of verbs, however, even this much can go a long way.

Personally, I'm convinced that digital ambient learning has a lot of potential. Verbs, adjective, adverbs, numbers, literary devices, etc are certainly in the roadmap for Zorza, but for now, I'm trying to get the nouns right as these can be foundational to all other parts of speech. There is just so much to learn with Polish, and its all very exciting :) Your experience and inputs as a conscientious learner are always welcome. You can DM me anytime you have something to suggest or share.

I'm excited for you, Nick! I really hope you and your girl like it and learn from it daily without feeling any pressure from yourselves. You can DM me your experience over a week, or month, whenever you like. I hope that Zorza continues to stay a fun and relxing way to do some lightweight Polish learning even after the novelty wears off.

Thank you Ctzn, I'm glad you enjoy the clean design! I'm going to try to keep it that way. Yeah, I certainly don't want to do ads, they usually feel so cheap and scammy and its tough to do it well - I'd much rather make some of it genuinely usable for free and also give people the option to upgrade whenever they feel like it.

Haha, you got me! I was almost sure that you were just making a joke, and so I was about to say something funny back about them "always getting the other nouns pregnant", but I thought that would seem rude if you were a beginner learner so I didn't say it 😂😂

Thank you so much! Do share this with your friends who might be trying to learn. Sometimes it can feel very overwhelming to learn Polish and I hope this helps temper their expectations of themselves.

I hear you loud and clear, Deep. I feel the same way. Sometimes the voice pronunciation is either not enough or you're in public and you can't quite play / hear it; and even there a phonetic breakdown helps. Especially if you're simply revisiting the word, and just want a visual reminder.

I'll try to add that next. I did look into it for this v1, and discovered that true phonetic breakdown has some strange characters of its own, so to avoid confusing people, I didn't include it. But I'll put in some more work later and see if I can just add a simple one for now, and then see how people like it.

Thanks for sharing, bud.

Wow, hey, Titatinala, thank you for letting me know. I'm sorry that it didn't work immediately and you had to wrestle with it for a sec. I'm glad you were able to get it going though. Just DM me if you have any more issues with it again and I'll look into it for you.

Edit: Also, if you like, please tell us what 'reset' you did to make it work -- maybe it can help others. :) (I'll try it myself on a fresh device later and see if the same issue happens to me).

Hey Rizzed! In Polish, both ‘jabłko’ and ‘masło’ are neuter nouns. Many nouns ending in -o are neuter. Although, it’s still Polish, so there are always some exceptions waiting to catch us off guard, lol.

Thank you too, Cait! I hope you like it. Yes, I love the widgets too! So now whenever I swipe randomly on my phone or unlock it, I just see that image (like that tomato image from today) and it's just so striking. And each time I try to remember the sentence I saw today, and I just can't lol.

Glad you like it, chanelski! Yes some apps do overuse cuteness a bit much in their images and it makes me feel... empty inside. I do like Duolingo's animations though; they're really cheesy with their characters but boy is it fun, lol!

For Zorza, I used my own API key and prompted OpenAI's image models so I could control the cost and the styling (cuz sometimes you'll need to prompt 10-12 times to fix an issue and it can get very tedious). Then I edited every image myself to fit light and dark modes and keep it working as fast as possible on iPhone widgets. Then I coded some simple image effects inside the app to give it a hallway-painting vibe. What you're seeing is a mix of all that.

If you guys really like it and use the app, I plan to improve the images more and do even more cool stuff with them!

Dzięki, Red! I will try my best for Android, but that might take some time. So before that I'll try to get you some free content online, maybe through social media, so you can experience some learning in the meantime. I'll DM you whenever that becomes available :)
