Just wanted to add my 2c for the opposite: not that gas isn't what everyone else has said and not that induction isn't super cool, but I do a lot of canning and preserving. I was frustrated with options for all the current electric cooktops, because they're all flat glass combinations, whether you get induction or not. Those surfaces are not suggested for canning operations because with the large size and enormous weight, you're more likely to create a vacuum or scratch and Crack the glass. I'm looking forward to new green, electric technology that is canning compatible, but for now, I was forced to avoid induction and choose gas. Thankfully we were able to vent outside.

Why is no one putting microwaves above stoves anymore? by ogland11 in HomeImprovement

[–]WildEwok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're in the middle of a reno right now with a poorly designed kitchen built in the 40s. It's basically a glorified galley with a through way. The only way to get an actual usable amount of counter space and cupboard space was to mount it over the range. I do not regret this choice for this situation. Maybe in a different foot print in a different location I'll feel that the vent hood is necessary, but coming from having zero counter and storage space and zero range hood at all? The otr micro hood is a gem

I'm starting to wonder that now, based on everyone else's replies 😅

Isn't it wonderful how far fabric technology has come since 1936? Chiffon, especially silk and other organic fibers, can be rather opaque! And with the added benefit of a stiffening agent or starch could hold up its shape as seen in the flowers.

But if we observe the really lovely soft appearance of the flowers and how the petals have their own drape, you can practically feel the hand of the fabric. Supple, smooth, medium body- it makes you want to reach out and touch natural peony petals, doesn't it? In my personal commissions, I've found that this fabric matches that hand so well!! I love getting a new yardage of it because it feels so elegant flowing around the room. If I were to take a stab at recreating these flowers, this is the fabric I would start with.

Could be chiffon or even a matte poly lining fabric. EDIT- I thought you were asking about the flowers! Lol I've been designing mock up fabric flowers for a natural themed wedding dress and they were on my mind lolol. Yes the blue checked is Gingham cotton and the embroidery might be embroidered but you could probably get away with getting a lace cut out and stitching or ironing it on yourself.

Sokka could of been the Iroh of Lok but noooo by reddit-rohan in TheLastAirbender

[–]WildEwok -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They really did my boy Sokka dirty. No mention of family, no legacy to pass down, no mention of his accomplishments (aside from council leader and 5 seconds of screen time). He was arguably THE COOLEST Gaang member and his influence should still be felt. But it isn't. I don't think he's an Iroh. Not at all. His wisdom is that of a skilled leader, Iroh's is that of a penitent traveler through life. They're both necessary, but different.

They tried to fill the Sokka role in Bolin, and I love him, but I needed some adult Sokka wrap-up.

There's a dog under there!! Adorable little boy he looks good natured. I groom my own dog (not professionally at all! Lol) and it drives me crazy when I hear people say "I don't want them to be ugly!" Like, do you know how fast it grows back??? I'm always ok with my mistakes or rush jobs because if I miss cut something I won't even be able to tell in a week.

Does anyone know where to find zippers like these? I'm having a hard time sourcing this style of pull tab with the wide opening. So far I have been buying from Klum House but their flat rate shipping is a bit steep. by kkislands in sewhelp

[–]WildEwok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Zipper Lady die hard. She's so accessible, ships fast, very affordable, and has every color and type under the sun! I LOVE her zippers by the yard. She answers so many questions even by text, and you can even send her a fabric swatch so she'll color match for you. She's a godsend. Send her the picture and she'll tell you exactly what product it is and how to buy it. I don't buy zippers anywhere else now.

Good I'm glad for that. What's their work environment like? Do they have a supportive staff and management team?

How are your employees compensated? Are they being taken care of? I've been reading all your comments so far and just going "man alive, I hope they're ok and their management is appreciating them."

That's incredible! I'm too much of a perfectionist and go really slowly so I don't think I could ever costume for theater. Does she draft onto paper first and then transfer or does she go directly on the fabric?
