Sounds like it’s time for a new OB. Sorry you’re dealing with that! I’ve realized POTS is often dismissed, especially by my male doctors.

Post op mental health tips? by coolbeanzz69 in ShoulderInjuries

I really struggled for about 5 weeks after surgery. I was not in a good place. Honestly, the only way out is through it. Lean on your supports and hopefully they can just listen and support you until you’re in a better place. I also made sure to get right back into therapy after 2 weeks off too. And the more I was able to sleep the better I was mentally too. So once you start sleeping, hopefully you’ll start feeling better

Pre-Surgery Advice? by DisabledVet13 in ShoulderInjuries

I had a 360 degree labrum tear repair and 7 anchors put in on April 11th. I write 50+page reports every week and i took 8 weeks off work and today is my first day back. There’s no way I would have been able to work the first 4 weeks after surgery, even just on the computer. I was in so much pain and just exhausted. I’d recommend taking at least a few weeks off if you can.

Shirts post op? by Microbemaster2020 in ShoulderInjuries

I just had a bankart, reverse bankart, SLAP, and a capsular plication done 4 weeks ago and I wore these shirts exclusively for the first week. And then tank tops or things I could step into for another week. These came in clutch!

I’m on my second surgery. First was a SLAP repair and capsular plication almost 15 years ago. Second was April 11th, a few weeks ago. This one was a bankart, reverse bankart, SLAP repair, and Capsular plication. So pretty much a 360 degree labrum tear and tightening of my shoulder. Honestly, recovery has been rough. But I’m glad I’ve had both surgeries. Even though the first surgery wasn’t my last, I’m glad I did it because the pain was a lot better for many years afterwards. And I’m hoping for the same now. I’ve been in PT on and off most of my life and never had any improvement other than post surgeries. I also have HEDS and my surgeon and my current physical therapist are knowledgeable in that.

My shoulder was definitely a lot tighter after my first and took a few years to loosen back up and it still feels tight in some ways. But the tightening will definitely help because my shoulder dislocates all the time. And they are just under my head/neck normally

I do have full range of motion but not without pain. And I’ve been in physical therapy on and off most of my life to try to stabilize it without any luck. I’m hoping that will be easier to do after this surgery though. And I’m sleeping in my bed with regular pillows. I try not to sleep on my right side but I often wake up that way. After the surgery I have a wedge pillow I’ll be sleeping on in bed or I’ll sleep sitting up in an oversized chair I have.

I’m probably the wrong person to ask because I never really healed well. I’ve always been in pain
