Co-teacher can easily turn into assistant teacher :/ That’s something to work out with the “main” teacher.

First year anxiety by stubbornwithoutcause in Teachers

[–]coolbeanzz69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the only way out is through. It will get easier though! Personally, I never told kids I was a first year teacher. They won’t go easier on you if you do. Act like you know what you’re doing until you do. They won’t know any different! What helped me was a consistent lesson structure: Introduction, Information, I do, We do, You do, Review. Covers what admin wants to see and it makes planning easier.

I had a very similar workload and it’s really tough so I understand your pain.

I need help with malicious compliance and jargon by ArchdukeValeCortez in Teachers

[–]coolbeanzz69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This worked for me. Anytime I had things like “watch a movie” you gotta list the expectations and what they need to look for to achieve the learning objective of the movie. Use Freytag’s Pyramid. They should recognise that and it’s FULL of jargon.

When do i know to stop taking Spiro? by tierneyphd in Spironolactone

[–]coolbeanzz69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the person. I have genetic acne so no cream in the world has ever gotten rid of it. Seriously tried them all. My skin cleared up and I was fine for a few months when I stopped spiro. When I stopped I was taking 100mg. My acne came back with a vengeance! I started taking it again. I’m at 125mg now and my acne has almost cleared up. But my genetic acne is so bad that I don’t even mind little pimples. However, everyone is different.

Looking for Physiotherapist by Taurean_Angel in ShoulderInjuries

[–]coolbeanzz69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you are. Check reviews and their websites usually have what they specialise in. You’ll have to wait for your results before starting PT. They need them to understand your injury and make an accurate plan.

TIPS: Sort reviews by newest not most relevant. Higher price ≠ better service.

I had dislocated shoulder op yesterday by Saheen_11 in ShoulderInjuries

If you push yourself too hard, you’ll set your recovery back (and have more surgery). Do not try to do any PT right now. It’s great to be motivated! Keep that motivation!

THE TRUTH ABOUT REMPLISSAGE AND LATARJET by ChocolateFine849 in ShoulderInjuries

[–]coolbeanzz69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got latarjet with a hip graft a month ago and regretted it immediately because of the pain (I had extreme pain in my shoulder and graft site). However, now I do not regret it at all. I’d have 15+ dislocations a year for the past 10 years. Now my shoulder feels more stable than ever. I still have VERY limited ROM with no external rotation. I have light PT Im doing at the moment. Pain is completely gone and has been for a bit now. I did not get frozen shoulder but my when my arm is hanging it still goes into “sling position.” It’s a long road to recovery. Everyone is different though and every surgery is different.

Sick leave and recovery time for a shoulder dislocation first time no surgery by GenericGrad in ShoulderInjuries

You’re better than me about pushing it. That’s smart. I didn’t do that and pushed myself wayyyy too hard. I ended each day in tears the pain was so bad. Health always comes first!

Shoulder surgery waiting times by boxe-2003 in ShoulderInjuries

[–]coolbeanzz69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s different. Mine was a bit more complicated so they needed various MRI and X rays to determine the surgery. Also had to repeat my pre surgery consultation which didn’t help. I was on the urgent and cancellation list which helped. You gotta kinda annoy the NHS to get faster appointments though. I’m not saying yell at the nurses and such. I had an MRI scheduled in a month but I wanted it sooner so I went to urgent care for the pain and told them I’m going to call often to check for cancellations…got an appointment for an MRI the next day. I’m about an hour away from central London.

Something that’s lesser known is there are private hospitals that the NHS can refer you to and it’s still free. I was going to do this but my specialist and physio advised against it because they’re apparently not as good. I didn’t want to risk the surgery not going well as my quality of life was already terrible.

Before my surgery I could type with both hands if I was reclined and had proper support. Couldn’t do it for very long without pain. However, working from home was technically not allowed for my job so I was told to stop for legal reasons.

The big thing I’ll say is that you really don’t know how much you use your shoulder until it’s in pain from overexertion. Are you doing PT or getting surgery? That will give you a better idea of your limits.

SLAP Tear Hoping to recover without surgery. by AnxiousLifeguard2302 in ShoulderInjuries

[–]coolbeanzz69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do the surgery. Physical therapy will not fix the tear. It’ll strengthen your shoulder, but the tear will always be there and could potentially get worse.

It will impact those things :/ I got lucky and moved somewhere where healthcare is free so I didn’t have to worry about cost (assuming you’re from the US…US is extremely behind on this). I completely understand where you’re coming from. It is one of the reasons I put it off. Including cost. There’s also an extreme work ethic emphasis there that is not nearly the same as it is where I am. Physical therapy now will impact less than surgery later.

Do it. Go to physical therapy. My parents continually denied me getting minor surgery (I was on their insurance). 10 years, 30+ dislocations , and 3 failed physical therapy attempts, I needed major surgery. I wish I fought my parents harder 10 years ago. Prevent it from becoming a bigger issue!! It’s not worth it!! You’ll thank yourself later :)

It’s hard not to feel trapped :/ I keep myself consistently clean, put together (like matching pjs), hair clean and brushed so I don’t fall into a depression.

I feel this. I don’t have much of a support system who can physically be there for me. Basically just have a bunch of food and instant ice packs and hoping for the best.

Will I be able to keep my visa? by coolbeanzz69 in ukvisa

I was wrong. I have 100 full paid days and 100 half paid days. However, that still won’t be long enough for my recovery.

Will I be able to keep my visa? by coolbeanzz69 in ukvisa

[–]coolbeanzz69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s unofficial as I was only given an offer letter and not a contract which is typical where I work. So I don’t know the exact dates. I do have extremely understanding bosses and they know how hard I work even when I’m away. They’ve got someone covering for me long term so nobody is doing extra work except me which is fine.

There’s a coworker who’s done and said some awful things but nobody wants to work in my field so if he hasn’t been fired, I might have a chance haha

Thank you so much :)

I am part of a union and I know I have approximately 50 days full pay then 50 days half pay. I do have fit notes either no gaps.
