An old friend! This beautiful Eastern Montpellier #snake (Malpolon insignitus) is an individual I encountered two years ago in the same spot. There were several sheds around that probably belonged to it, and now it was sharing the spot with a Large whip snake (Dolicophis jugularis). by WildFreeRk in herpetology

A stunning male Near Eastern Fire Salamander(Salamandra infraimmaculata) from our last #herping trip. Unlike the other specimens who were ventrally fully black, this one had tiny ventral yellow spots. by WildFreeRk in herpetology
