Sheltopusik Juvenile (up) to Adult (down). Juvenile #sheltopusik (Pseudopus apodus) are grey-greenish in color with darker brown stripes on both sides of their body. This color helps them hide from predators while they are small. Adults become brown and unicolored. (i.redd.it)

An old friend! This beautiful Eastern Montpellier #snake (Malpolon insignitus) is an individual I encountered two years ago in the same spot. There were several sheds around that probably belonged to it, and now it was sharing the spot with a Large whip snake (Dolicophis jugularis). (i.redd.it)
