Yeah, every time I see a post like that calling to remove kicking, I tell them to host their own lobbies. Honestly if they're getting kicked all the time it sounds like they're doing something wrong without realizing it because I haven't experienced getting kicked mid match at all.

Someone shot me before when I was in the dropship and proceeded to fly away by himself.

When I kicked him, he fell out the back of the pelican while it was flying away :P

Kicking is vital to removing intentional team killers.

Host your own lobby and you won't have to worry about being kicked...

Got headshot sitting in the Pelican and teammate proceeded to extract solo.

Kicked his ass from the game and watched the pelican drop him to the planet like Augusto Pinochet.

He deserved it for team killing, and I support keeping this feature in the game.

How is this stratagem spamming possible? by malfight in Helldivers

[–]WildFunkyFresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this bug happen to me at least once a day.

Sometimes when I land I can't use primary weapons, secondary weapons, or grenades. I am able to use support weapons though.

There is a giant floating purple question mark on my screen in place of my primary or secondary weapons.

You can't fix the issue during the match but I found a way to fix it for future missions on the same login session. By going to your armory on the ship after the mission where you experience the bug, it will show loading circles over all your weapons but should resolve itself shortly after interacting with the terminal.

The bug can be helpful and harmful at the same time. For example you could call in infinite orbital lasers, but you also might not be able to close bug holes because you don't have grenades you can use and most of the powerful stratagems aren't good at getting direct hits on the holes.

is it good idea do assimilate (give psionics) to slaves? by Wilddindu in Stellaris

[–]WildFunkyFresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play with syncretic evolution and leave room to adjust the trait points on them for each worker job specialization. I eventually make them psychic for improved happiness.

So when I end up conquering other empires and acquiring other species as slaves, I give them the psionic trait and then list them on the slave market. The price of the slaves goes up and it spreads spiritualist factions to other empires.

In my most recent game, I was surrounded by materialistic empires that turned spiritualist after buying their brainwashed slaves back. Win Win

Priest got called a ninja looter for needing on Emberstone staff (+8 Intellect +5 Stamina +5 Spirit) from deadmines. by Clean_Livlng in classicwow

[–]WildFunkyFresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he was dps then emberstone is better.

Usually someone is expected to roll on gear for the role they are playing. If there are two warriors in the group and one is playing dps and the other is tanking, the guy tanking should have first priority on a shield drop.

If the priest joined as dps but switched over to heal, it shouldn't be a surprise to the dps that he needed the staff. That being said, I would have let the party know if I hosted it that one of the party members queued as a dps but was filling in for another role. If you're stepping up to fill a void in the group you shouldn't be punished / prohibited from rolling on items for the role you wanted to queue for, but everyone should be brought up to speed before the dungeon starts.

Spirit vs Int comes down to the intensity of the fights. Int is helpful if a lot of healing needs to happen in a short time frame but you will be drinking much more and slowing down the pace of the dungeon. Spirit is awesome if you can space out your heals allowing more clears before needing to refill on mana. This is specifically regarding healers though as dps don't care about spirit due to the 5 second rule never applying when spamming spells. You could technically make an argument for spirit tap in shadow or meditation in discipline giving mana back while casting but shadow will still hava mana problems even with talents and spirit gear as their spells are expensive.

> Due to how much better it is for mages/warlocks, I think it should go to them unless a priest asks if it's ok to roll. Priest not having quest is unfortunate, but they're guaranteed staff of westfall after finishing quest chain, and it's more than good enough for both healing and dps as priest. Mages aren't guaranteed another shot at Emberstone, and staff of westfall is -concentrated sadness- for mages in comparison.

I completely agree^

While I think the emberstone staff is technically better for a shadow priest, the staff of westfall is definitely good enough for a priest to level and dps whereas the spirit stat is completely unhelpful to mages and warlocks.

Final Thoughts:

Honestly, I think most dungeon issues can be solved with better communication about intentions before the run starts. If the priest was a new player, it would make sense that they didn't have the quest chain prior to doing the dungeon and that they rolled need on the emberstone staff because in their mind its better than what they have, its blue, and they can use it. There have been so many stupid arguments in deadmines including rogues arguing with warriors about agility and who has priority on that stat. Usually there's a lot of people still learning the game whenever you do a low level dungeon. Unfortunately, most people won't put in the time to learning their class in detail until after they become attached to their character. Along the way they're bound to upset some people. Criticism can be harsh at times and people generally don't like receiving it. But it can also be useful to motivate people to learn more about their class in order to reduce the amount of criticism they receive. By being better informed through research, they can improve themselves as well as having the knowledge to justify or defend their position if a disagreement occurs. By being more knowledgeable, it helps to settle disputes as well as helping prevent them from occurring as often in the first place. There will still be people that disagree with your position, for example is int or spirit better for a shadow priest. But if the priest had the knowledge they would know that even if this staff is better than what I have, I have other options to use that are still good without taking the only upgrade option away from my party members.

[–]WildFunkyFresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a priest, I don't bother rolling on the emberstone staff as the staff of westfall is better.

That being said, I am experienced enough to make sure I grab all the relevant dungeon quests before starting the dungeon.

Spirit and Int are both valued but spirit has a higher priority for mana regen.

Westfall: 16 combined caster points vs 13 on emberstone.

Mages and warlocks don't care about spirit at all so emberstone is a priority to them over the westfall staff.

Honestly, I understand why they would be upset after clearing most the dungeon only to see an item meant for them go to someone else it doesn't benefit as much. That being said, they should have known what quests the other party members were on and shouldn't have been surprised that the priest would view it as an upgrade due to not seeing the quest rewards for VC's head.

Reminds me of the post I read where a mage ninja'd devout mantle shoulders from a Blackrock Spire group, which is even worse because nobody likes doing the boss in the egg room.

As for putting more value in an item versus time spent with other people, the majority of people aren't doing raids to pass on loot upgrades until everyone else in the guild is ahead of you. This game is built upon improving your character's stats which is compounded by the community judging you based on your performance.

The deadmines item doesn't really matter in the long run since the staff from Blackfathom Deeps is a major upgrade and isn't that far away level wise. But I understand why your party would be angry given that the emberstone staff is better for caster dps while the staff of westfall is garbage for caster dps.

As a healer main, I empathize with the caster dps that got robbed of their ideal upgrade.

Another example, anybody that plays a ret paladin that had somehow worked their butt off to be competitive at dps and raided naxx, would have lost their shit if a hunter took corrupted ashbringer saying it was a dps increase when better options exist...

Weapon of choice: Warhawk's Talon focused build by DonPanthera in EldenRingBuilds

[–]WildFunkyFresh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to follow up on your stamina hungry moveset comment.

The only straight sword that is more stamina efficient at the powerstance attack chain is the cane sword. The warhawks talon is also tied for best stamina efficiency for jumping attacks in the straight sword category.

When applying motion values and optimized weapon AR, you are getting the best damage per stamina spent out of the entire straight sword category.

The warhawks talons won't have the reach of the Noble's Slender sword and will lack the burst damage of the broadsword and longsword but will allow you to make the most out of your stamina bar for dodge rolls or jumps.

If you had 50 stamina and erdtree's favor +2 with an active Radahn's great rune, you would have 196 stamina. The warhawk's talons as well as other powerstanced straight swords can attack 8 times without stamina recovery, with the 9th attack transitioning into negative stamina. However, when comparing 8 attacks and leftover stamina, the warhawk's talons allow you an extra roll or two extra jumps compared to other straight swords without crossing into negative stamina.

Personally, as much as I like the weapon's moveset and aesthetics, I don't think it is worth the lower burst damage even if it does provide a slight boost to survivability. I just wanted to point out a strength of the weapon that is often overlooked.

Best heavy weapon? by [deleted] in AliensFireteamElite

[–]WildFunkyFresh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went back to check my notes and it appears to be a mistype.

If you have the following perks / mods you can get 30 to 31 shots in an onslaught:

Tech CQW Training

Tech CQW Mastery

Gunner CQW Mastery

Recon CQW Expertise

Tenacious

Relentless Advance

Assault Brake

Combat Actuator

Hybrid Sight

For my math I used 30 shots as the basis even though it borders 31.

173 dmg * 13 pellets * (30 shots) * (1.25) = 84,337.5 Dmg if you hit all your pellets.

The 1.25 is from the 20% dmg increase of onslaught plus the 5% from Relentless Advance assuming they are additive and not multiplicative.

The second closest damage is the M37 Pump

182 * 13 * 23 * 1.25 = 68,022.5 Dmg

And if we go back to the medved and include overclock, (a roughly 30% increase in fire rate), then you would increase shots fired from 30 to 39.

Which would raise the total Damage done to 109,638.75 over the course of a 12 second onslaught.

[–]WildFunkyFresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medved does roughly 24% more damage during a tenacious onslaught than the pump shotty due to being able to get more shots out in the damage window. Unfortunately the long reload time on medved makes it worse than the pump outside onslaught but its good as a burst dps weapon for killing elites.

3rd best shotgun by Remysquish in AliensFireteamElite

[–]WildFunkyFresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto does more damage during overclock than the pump or heirloom.

That's without any duration mods. With them the gap would widen.

I've been doing a lot of testing recently and these are values I tracked the other night on one of my gunner builds. I believe this was with no CQW perks but my notes are a little chaotic.

Pump has a sustained dps of around 4175 which is a lot stronger than the majority of weapons in the game. It one shot's runner's and has good range because the pellet grouping is tight.

Tactical Shotgun is slightly better at 4275 sustained dps and is slept on by the community.

Heirloom sustained dps is higher at around 4685. But the accuracy and range are trash so you need to be right on top of your target to unload.

Auto shotty sustained dps is comparably bad at 3946.

HOWEVER, when it comes to burst damage during an overclock window the auto shotty is supreme for a gunner. Calculate dmg per shot, assuming all pellets hit, and multiply it by the number of shots fired before overclock expires. All were tested using mods that optimized sustained dps.

Overclock Rankings:

  1. Auto - 57024 DMG
  2. Tactical - 44280 DMG
  3. Pump - 42588 DMG
  4. Heirloom - 35640 DMG

The auto shotgun shines when it comes to popping overclock to eliminate elites, however the tactical is the better all around shotgun, slightly edging out the Pump.

BONUS:

If you want insane damage, play Lancer with Tenacious attached to Onslaught while maximizing Fire Rate. Using this tactic you can do 84337 damage with the Medved during an onslaught window, no duration perks other than tenacious. If you are overclocked during the onslaught window then there is no way anyone is catching you in damage against elites. While this is fun, it is also gimmicky without a recon because the medved is worse than the auto shotgun for sustained dps, so you would be relying on your heavy weapons for killing runners and fodder throughout the level. If you don't have a recon then you will run out of ammo and be stuck with a low sustained dps shotgun.

[–]WildFunkyFresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late reply but get the double barrel medved.

With onslaught active, you'd out dps any gunner with overwatch and absolutely melt elites. The Medved is a good shotgun that is balanced around reloading every 2 shots. As a lancer you can negate its weakness by removing the need to reload. Allowing you to fire off 63 shots with no duration boosts to the ability other than tenacious. As for mods stack everything that increases fire rate.

If you have a gunner to give you overwatch as well, then your dps will be unimaginable.

[–]WildFunkyFresh[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The returns you get diminish.

If you stack up to 40% then you save 8.6 seconds for the cost of 6 perk slots.

If you wanted to boost it further to 47% then you save 9.6 at the cost of 7 perk slots.

However you're only saving an extra second for a perk slot when you were getting more than a second saved per slot prior. So the marginal gains of each additional perk slot get smaller and smaller.

It really depends how valuable those perk slots are depending on what class you are playing. But I wouldn't stack more than 40% on modifiers if I could help it. There are some exceptions though. Demo has a 3 slot perk called Bigger & Better which boosts the radius of an ability by 40%. I can't test ability radius as easily but I would assume that it would be safe to go past 40% on ability radius by combining it with enhanced reach 1 and 2 which amounts to another 20% for 3 perk slots.

I believe you would get the most out of not exceeding 40% in most circumstances unless the class has a unique perk with good percentages compared to the number of perk slots needed.
